If you have the option to pile up spent sub and let it compost a while I highly recommend it. Great soil additive. There's some people down the road from me with vegetable greenhouses that beg for it in the spring

Soak it all in 50/50 water and h202 and drain out the green water. Rinse with regular water 3 or 4 times in till the green water goes back to clear water. Then dump it outside in a shady hole.
You can do this without the soaking but if you can maximize your mycelium/contamination_then you greater the chances for the outdoor flush

I let them pile up in the back yard, chopped up, let a month or two go by then wheelbarrow the compost to spread over the garden beds.
After a month or two it just looks like dirt/compost.
This is I think the third thread this week asking this question.

I don't think you're doing that by soaking it in peroxide. You're just making myc weaker to fight against whatever contam it runs into outside.

I'd say compost like most others. If you don't have a garden though you could always fill a trash bag and dump it late night at your woodsy smoke spot or hiking trail, obviously break it up. If you're just trying to dispose, I know of people that stock up bags of weed stuff and take them all out when the garbage truck is rolling down the block. Local dump/transfer station is easy, might be a lil pricey, but not more than $20-40 if you have truck bed filled or less, and that is 100% safe disposal.

I'm able to get it to the consistency What I would basically call rice soup. I only flush it down one scoop at a time...it's not going to hurt anything.
Dirt and stuff from storm drains, aka grey water, doesn't go through the same water treatment as human waste does. Trust me man there is alot of stuff that is found being flushed down the toilet, the first year I worked I think I personally found 10 flip flop sandles, underwear, tampons, condoms literally a whole mess of stuff in the decant tanks. And just because you don't see what happens to it doesn't mean it just disappears, there are people who have to deal with it after you. Not trying to ride you but that rice soup consistancy sub you flush down the toilet plugs up the material screens and doesn't break down like human waste. You do you but I'm a pretty considerate person so I do try and look out for my neighbors too. Even if I don't see them.

I've lost more good flip flops that way than I can count. Sounds like I'm providing job security to the facilities I pay for.

Compost, bury it, throw it away in yard waste bags. If you're somewhere where you pay for garbage and there's a separate program for yard waste, do NOT throw it in your regular garbage or recycling. There are weeks that they check the bins, especially during the summer/fall looking for people throwing out yard waste in their bins (trying to give you a fee for this, have had it happen to me with grass clippings...). If you buy the yard waste bins, bags, whatever, just toss your substrate in those with some leaves, grass clippings, dirt, loose coir, whatever and you're good.

Job security for waste water treatment facilities is people using water in their homes, inconveniencing somebody to have to wade through sewage and get material off the catch screens is a pita. Never personally done that but iv seen it done and it didn't look fun. Why do you think you shouldn't flush fat, grease, medications/drugs down the toilet, cuz it makes a big mess, regular food ok the microbes eat that stuff but coir and verm won't digest and then it has to be hauled away to farms and fields. And don't you think its wasteful to be flushing your toilet who knows how many times to get it all down. And idk how a flip flop could make it through a toilet but they do lol. I cant make you stop but I can advise against it. Good luck.

Yeah I know all these details and good looking out on your part. I just don't have other options atm. I won't set it on the curb, I'm not driving it anywhere. But I'm buying a house in the country this summer then I can bury it, compost it, roll around naked in it in my yard...whatever I want
