Why would my brain stop processing DMT?

I posted this in enhanced chemistry forum too, but it's dead over there. What could cause someone to be physically unable to experience a DMT trip anymore? As in, a completely hollowed-out, 10% trip no matter how much is used? Visuals only a tiny fraction of what they always were before, fundamentally blocked out of the experience? Could I have some receptor imbalance or some chemical issue in my brain? Only 5 weeks ago or so I was able to experience a normal trip-- with and without MAOI's (caapi and Rue) but something dramatic has changed in my brain-- Why would DMT stop working? I haven't felt that great for a few weeks, and I'm concerned.

Any chance you’ve started taking Selective Seratonine Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs)? They’re known to block the effects of seratonin receptor agonists, such as most psychedelics. St. John’s Wart is a common natural one many people take without even knowing it’s an SSRI.
Or have been heavily dosing DMT for those 5 weeks? Tolerance builds up quick. Try giving it a break for a few months.

No, no form of SSRI's-- and what I meant was that up until about 5 weeks ago I was experiencing it normally-- I use it with harmalas also-- rue mostly, but also caapi. And again, up until several weeks ago, they were reliably effective-- but I have practically no felt harmala effects anymore either-- so somehow MAOI's aren't "working" anymore either.
I usually only do this stuff weekly, maybe twice weekly, but sometimes with a few weeks between. Have for years. It's not tolerance-- the body has no natural tolerance to DMT (aside from trying to do it right after another dose when it's still in your system anyway).
Something's changed-- and it makes me nervous. I've looked around online but I can't find any medical research explaining how this could happen, and I'm worried there's some neurological chemistry problem in my brain somehow.

There’s a ‘phenomenon’ with dmt called being “shut out” that happens. Look it up on the Nexus, they talk a lot about it over there. As far as I’ve seen there’s no clear cut explanation for why it happens. Best bet is to take a break and go live your life, try again sometime down the road.
For my own curiosity, are you also shut out with taking it orally or is it just when vaping it?

Both have become affected/diminished. Last week I am able to experience mescaline fully-- so strange. I quit I guess. Or I have a brain tumor since nobody has any actual explanation?

May be a stupid question, but have you tried different batches? Are you using the same stuff that worked previously? Otherwise, have you changed your work load or become especially interested in some new thing recently, or become apathetic or anhedonic?
This is pure speculation, but since MAOs break down monoamines, variations in monoamine levels might alter MAO quantities. So say you've become especially engrossed in stuff and you've used up a heap of dopamine and now there's less around so MAO levels accumulate. Or something?
Weird how the harmala isn't working either. Wonder what enzyme breaks down harmaline/harmine? You could try augmenting with something that inhibits the enzyme that breaks down harmalines so you can inhibit the MAO that breaks down DMT...
