How often do you take transfers out of your slants?
    #26586268 - 04/08/20 12:27 PM (3 years, 10 months ago)

As the title says, how many times do you take from your slants ? My plan is to have a master slant(s) and keep them in the fridge. Take a but out to go on a plate and extend that to multi plates. Can i do that a few times in a year or is it best just to take from a slant very minimal?

Use slants for storage. For what you want to do, you can keep master plates in the fridge. Slants are a bit fiddly to work with due to the small opening.

Maybe once every year or two you take from your slant, grow on a plate,
then make a new slant, and store it for a couple years again. Keeping
the same culture going for a very very long time.

From what I've read and been told from experience, plates aren't the best to be in stores in the fridge but then how else are you supposed to do it lol. Do you store cubensis in the fridge ?

I have them double ziplocked and they're fine. And my fridge is nasty!

Yep, this.  I let the slant grow out a bit before storing it away.
