General Question about Gourmet Growing
    #26586282 - 04/08/20 12:41 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

I just have a general question. It seems like a lot of people cultivate by using lots of high-tech pressure cookers, fans, tubes, etc. However, what are the benefits of doing that, as compared to simply cloning on agar to grow mycelium out, then incolutating woodchips or wood or straw in a garden?

Like in this video, he bought substrat eonline, used cardboard and straw and boom, winecaps.

Thanks!

...simply cloning on agar... and ...woodchips... automatically means pressure cooker, still air box/flow hood.

I just remembered you were recently asking similar question that basically meant the same as this question: "how to avoid pressure cooker?".

The answer is -- you can't. Just buy it, there is no way around it.

Personally I bought Presto 01781 23-Quart Pressure Canner and Cooker from Amazon, it cost me $86.28 and $118.88 for delivery to South Africa.
You can buy smaller model or if you in the first world county, you would probably not pay crazy for delivery.

So far, this model is most recommended here on forum.

DO NOT use those cheap electric ones. They do not keep 15psi.

Also because of current shitshow you would probably not be able to buy anything of value from Amazon, unless its toilet paper or dildos.

There are crazy people here on forum like SHROOMSISAY01, they drill hole in pressure cooker and insert thermocouple, meaning it can be used for pasteurization and for sterilization.

I'll take that as a compliment!! I drilled the hole so I can use a PID to keep me from having to watch the PC and it also sounds an alarm when I am doing agar and the temp gets to 140F so I know exactly when to pour my agar. Time is money and this saves a lot of time.
