A new season.
    #26586000 - 04/08/20 09:40 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

First things first, I would like to send all the best wishes to everyone during this time of crisis, send all my thanks to everyone who helped me last season,  and most respect to the people keeping this all going.

I am a seasonal grower,  I can;t contend with humidity issues, heating issues, and contamination issues of winter, as well as being unable to vent the house off during a cook.

My set up is quite modest, and my first run, was quite modest as well (got me through the year)

I have tried Corn, and oats.
I know this is going to sound right looped, but something about not simmering corn, for 12 hours  just feels right

I have a spore culture left, and an LC syringe from last season, I intend to take my chances with.

I would like to thank the people who have posted the 45 min oat tek.

Main reason I am hear, is Cooking takes ages.
Excited for a new season.

Might put the time effort and ambition into Egar this season. Given my Modest needs, not sure (yes I am well aware of the community view of this.)

As a seasonal grower i would recommend outdoor woodlover patches they are the best way to produce bulk mushrooms of high potency with zero effort

2 weeks in.

17/18  LC  to  oats have taken off like wildfire. Golden teacher)
My LC survived just fine all winter

(wondering  if I blipped, and skipped one)

and 0/18  MS  I am so impatient,  I know, 2 weeks on the MS is nothing.  Been a long time since I used stock MS

17 days,
Shook 6 of my GT  from LC
6 will cover a bin.
6 more doing well.
6 ..um..  yeh...  um.  I might get impatient and seed them with grains from the first 6 when I spawn to bulk

my MS  looks like the day I PC'ed them.

The MS  inoculation to grain jars, has been inactive.
Was trying to remember the first time.  I Remember it being quite slow to germinate.

will stay patient.
can find quite a few comments on from people taking over a month.

we will see.
or maybe it died this winter,  who knows.

In 7 days I suspect I will write off my multispore inoculations.
Anyone see any reason not to  Grain to grain all of them?

I see no contamination, and no growth,  in 4 weeks.
Or need I give it more time?

My LC  will be ready to spawn to bulk (or g2g)
in 2 weeks, or less.

So, I got 2 monotubes up and running today.  Pretty sure at least a little bacterial. Can't say I have had anything go badly yet.  I have enough grain for my 3rd mono.  but it is a ways out.

I grain to grained the other 1/2 of the jars, that did not take to the MS (yes I know what you guys said)

the failed A.P.E MS is now a GT G2G,  and looks to be doing well (arguably better than the rest)

I can't wait for the June sale
Might try egar, even though I see lots in here having just as much bacterial problem with the egar.

Might also try packing the Polly more gently, might try drying even more.

Not Ideal, but nothing tanking yet.
