Need advice! Just starting grow!
    #26585109 - 04/07/20 09:32 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Ok so! I got all the equipment, got my box setup and even syringes. However.. I don't know where to start with one thing. Ok so I have just ordered some ingredients. Also have some already. I need to know what to do with them and in what order exactly. I am gonna be using coco coir, worm castings, vermiculite, gypsum, and coffee. I am got a bunch of bags with a bunch of Rye grain that I am gonna PC of course. What do I do with all of the other stuff I just listed? And.. in what amounts? I have 6 large trays that are gonna be inside of a shelf system grow box. I got a 9 disk fogger that's gonna be hooked to it. Complete with heater and fan for air flow and all that. Temp and humidity monitors and all that good stuff. As well as an inside grow box hepa and uv air cleaner. But.. just need to know what to do with the ingredients once I get the bags of rye inoculated. Thoughts? Thanks guys

Well just going for inoculating bags with a syringe is a gamble i myself wouldnt take. Id start with germinating on agar then do a few transfers to help insure clean growth

From reading your post i can already tell youre overthinking it and might be over complicating things a little bit.  [Ie adding worm casting and such to coir. Why add things that need to be pastuerized to a substrate that doesnt require pasteurization] Especially on a first grow. Limit your variables.

Its a little late so ill stop back by and join the discussion at another time.

Thanks guys. And yes.. any and all of my items are negotiable. I don't have to use worm castings if it's not needed. I grow poppies too. And they love the worm castings, so I'd like to keep them for them if I could. I was just trying to see if someone could give me a quick recipe on what I have for amounts as I don't know how much chicken compost to use with the coir for the most part. I have seen some say to use just a measly 1% while someone else said they just put it 100% equal in there with the coir. Im gonna read it all but if anyone has any quick ideas or suggestions.. I'm all ears. Thanks again!
