Was only able to sterilize wood pellets for 1.5 hrs at 15 psi, I was running out of water I think and got scared lol, hopefully that’s enough time...... I’m going to do some more tomorrow and try to hit 2.5 hrs, any tips to not run out of water? I filled it with water about 3/4 up the way of the grow bag. The only thing I can think of is to raise the canning platform on the bottom.

Put more water in the PC. I use an old squirrel cage fan piece to raise my bottom rack then set the bottom rack on the fan. I put my bags in and put another rack on top of the bags. I fill the water up to about 1/2 inch above the fan and rack. I also bought some washers to go on my weight. You will not get the wabbling of the weight as before but you won't lose as much water. My PC is PID controlled after a few modifications. So I just press a button and come back the next day. As you can see in the pics I only lose about 1/2 inch of water running my PC for 3 1/2 hours

squirrel cage fan piece. You can use anything to lift the rack and allow more water without flooding the bags...

squirrel cage fan piece with rack on top (back of pic)...

how much water I lost after 3 1/2 hours. I could run my PC for 8 or more hours with no problem...

Hard to tell but the water is basically level with the rack so I still have 2 1/2 inches of water in the PC after the 3 1/2 hours of run time.

Looks like I fucked up and ran the PC dry and now the bottom is bowed.....don’t know if that ruins the PC or not

I did that once before I made the modifications actually that is why I made the modifications. I put down a blanket (make sure to use a blanket or something to protect the seal) put the open part of the pot on the blanket and took a heavy hammer put a 2 x 4 on the bottom and straightened it out. If you bend it in too far as I did just use the 2 x 4 long ways to straighten it out from the inside. Be sure to use wood to hit don't hit the aluminum directly with the hammer. of course, do this on a solid surface like a concrete floor.

Checked my blocks today and they are starting to yellow, I think that they are fine, but just wanted to check in, they smell mushroomy still, but they have been sitting for a while, which I bet is causing them some stress, what say you all? No pictures unfortunately as I mixed them up before I thought of that. Thinking it's just metabolites from sitting fully colonized for a while.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have had blocks sit so long they start to fruit through the filter patch and through the top of the bag where I twist the bag together and put a zip tie on. You will probably get a smaller yield. But they will fruit when they get fresh air and they will fruit quickly.

I'm moving them to a wood pellets to colonize so hopefully that works out well.

Well, that didn’t go well, I need to work on my sterile process lol. I bought an impulse sealer and it seemed to not seal very well at all so I bet I have contaminated everything.

So my wood pellet substrate is taking forever to colonize, not quite sure why. I didn't add any enrichment at all to it so maybe that is why.

Did you test your water content? What percent of water did you have?
