Can the mycelium fight against contamination?
    #26583103 - 04/07/20 01:08 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

I was wondering if I have contamination in my jars?
And if there is a possibility of the mycelium fighting against the contamination the black dots haven't grow and the mycelium seems to be covering them.

In the pic it looks creamy and pastey is that just the pic or does it look that way to the naked eye?

It doesn't look good tbh. Looks like bacteria and mold but tbh pic is so glossy and my eyes suck.

all you can do is wait and see.  I definitely wouldn't toss those . even if its some bacteria you may still get fruits which I imagine is your goal

I try to take better pictures so let me know if they help a little bit more.

The reason I am asking is that I have another jar with the same black dot and now it's gone but it was a little bit smaller.

Yes, my ultimate goal is getting fruits but also learning, if they are really bad for the fruiting stage I will never compromise that stage.
Can mycelium kill bacteria or mold?
Can  I use UVC light and applied to the contamination area to kill the bacteria and mold?

Just wait and see. You won't be hurting anything by letting them grow further.

that could just be an uncolonized area of the cake devoid of bacteria.  I wouldn't jump the gun on anything that extreme (especially for a cake). myc can definitely overrun bacteria and mold but that doesn't look like a "black spot of death" just an uncolonized portion of the cake. it could be indicative of bacteria but u wont know until u wait and see
