Great thread.
I hope everyone is safe and well, practicing good sterile technique. I missed the lagm because i messed up grain prep a few times earlier on in the year. So i wasn't going to post that.
I'm also using soda glass petris. I tried no pour preparation in the microwave. Everything boiled out and they stuck to fhe microwave dish. Ah well you gotta try these things.
Redboy ms spawned today. Hunting for clones.

Saran sticks together in a pc. You get a really tight wrap around your dishes.

hey shroomers,
not much interesting to report today, I’m mostly just posting because I’m bored and in quarantine. took some transfers today but noticed a contam in one of my plates. this doesn't suprise me as when i poured this batch of 25 plates it was my first time doing plates in about 6 months or so. I was bumbling around like a drunk guy, knocking stuff over, touching stuff, breathing on stuff, it was awful. 5 or so plates went bad as a result and i think the contam i spotted today is a remnant of that; not from the transfer.
i usually store plates in the fridge, but whenever I’m not feeling confident with my pours I let them sit out for a week so that anything that’s going to show up shows up.
Anyway here are some extra plates from a previous transfer, to me the Rustywhyte (left) ooks puffy, i suspect a contam, but i think i will go ahead and drop the p. mex on grain. let me know your thoughts
in other news I ordered some plates from Amazon and they showed up in like two days!!! They are also a lot bigger than I thought they would be (about inches in diameter) I’m going to use them sparingly for final transfers only so there is a lot of growth to put on grainz

Second flush from a mostly normal looking PE phenotype. I have 9 tubs in total going right now. And lots of LC inoculated.

Have you tested them to see if they’ve got the PE potency??

Shook those jars a few days ago, I was rushing a bit
Oats vs buckwheat:

Buckwheat seems to be performing better. I also love the contrast.

Haha, those are unmodified, so no filter on top. Just foil and unscrewed lids.

Never heard of buckwheat.
Makes sense it would do better after shaking though, looks a lot smaller.
They look like morning glory seeds too.

I just had to try this. I made up some soda glass petris in the pc and i both wrapped with saran and then foil. They came out fine and the saran wrap held up well. It indeed shrank somewhat but was functional.

That's what mine look like when taken out:

My procedure is as following:
- pour the dishes
- Wait for them to cool
- Wrap stacks. I like stacks of 6 for both 60mm and 80mm dishes. Although, it takes a bit of exercise to work with 6-stacks of 80mm glass dishes. When wrapping, try to make the bottom part of the stack flat with as little folds as possible. You only need 1 tight wrap, you don't need to wrap like a maniac.
- Put stacks into the PC, with the inner tray on some cups or something, to keep them above the water level. Try to leave space between them, otherwise they'll stick together. If you need to pack it up a bit more, use some pieces of tin foil between the stacks
- I PC them @15psi for 20 mins
- Turn off the PC and wait for it to cool down completely. Just last week, I ruined 84 dishes, because I moved it around and agar was still liquid inside, so it spilled over.
- Bang, you have nicely wrapped stacks of dishes. You'll notice that there are some smaller holes in the wrap here and there. Nothing wrong with that. Stack your dishes in an upright position on your shelf for a few days. This will help to remove any moisture that got trapped between the dishes/between dishes and wrap.
- Now, use them. Or put them in ziploc bags and store them for however long you want.

Dude you just levelled up my agar game. I have been using these dishes since lock down. They were strange to use at first but i hate buying plastic. I'd like boro ones eventually.
Here is one i broke when i tried tp nopour via the microwave. They stuck fast to the dish below when all the agar boiled out. I didn't wrap them or think to.

I will try your method soon. Very exciting to be able to 'Sans-decant' them.

These i nocced up yesterday. They're half Purple mystic, Redboy and Oakridge A2G and half purp mystic LI. I put a soft (too soft to take a wedge) puck in a jar of pc'd water with a stir bar, stirred hard for 5 minutes then poured onto rye.

420 shoebox. Redboy ms, 3qt 1:1 cvg. Hoping for something to clone here.
