Hello I need help with grow chamber problems. I have large plastic utility cabinet that I converted into a grow chamber. I have a 3 pin mister that humidifies the unit using a fan and tubing setup that fills the chamber with mist that uses humidity control. Initially the humidy was set at 90% and I have gradually dropped that humidity level down to 50% because the BRF cakes & rye/poo were getting white fluff build up from what I assume was too much moisture. There is also another fan and tubing setup that circulated fresh air every 2-4 hours. I also installed 5 80mm fans (1 for each level)that I manually turn on 2-3 times a day for added fresh air and fanning. There are decent fruits but nowhere near the fruits I would get in the old school S.G.F.C.
If anyone is using a similar setup or something like the Martha tent, I would appreciate any help you may have.
thanks jc

The 90% humidity was a good thing and you want that. They were growing thick fluffy mycelium from not having proper FAE. They don't just need the air in the cabinet replaced now and then but instead a constant amount of free air exchange. So much in fact that you want the maximum amount of air exchange that will still allow you to maintain 90% humidity.
So crank your humidity back up and keep the airflow on constantly and see if you can dial that in and still keep the 90% humidity.

I appreciate the response rumfor69. I was testing the system with FAE fans running along with the humidification running at different percentages. With that set up, everything just runs full tilt all of the time. I am wanting to have the system shut down when it reaches decent humidity levels. I set the humidity with a +/- 5% to hopefully allow things to chill for a while. I need a timer or control that will turn the 5 Cooler Guys FAE fans on & off to prevent everything from running continuously.

And that's why a lot of people just use monotubs because they have no power requirements. Every time your fans turn off, if the cabinet is sealed, then it isnt getting fresh air and the FAE has stopped. Where as a monotub has a loose odd placed lid or holes with tape that allow it to constantly have fresh air exchange.
