Yeah the ring is normal. At least for me. Every plate I’ve ever made has that exploratory mycelium scouting the way. It’s like little tiny tendrils that test out an area before going hard.

Look at how little those older plates have grown in 3 weeks. They are all contaminated.

Hmm, I think I should take a transfer from just the transparent growth, maybe the fuzzy parts are mold again, or why would it then start from random places not from the place where the spores were laid. Weird. The agar is bought, ready made, sterile. It just says water, agar, dextrose and potato starch. No idea about the ratios tho, gotta make my own next time to be sure, but no idea where to get all the parts, since everything is closed..
But yeah, the first batch seemed to be quite slow, the master was in fridge tho for some time. But the newer plates seem to be going quite a bit faster.
These were started on 26th of march, now they look like this.

Well, days have passed, now my two new plates look like the older ones, the leading edge is still transparent and white puffs randomly. Made and sterilized new agar myself, PDA(10/7/10 per 500ml), maybe the bought one was too nutritious and thats why myc is transparent, and the white spots are mold? Idk, really confusing. Should myc be sticking from bottom to up? If I look closely from sides, I can see little lone strings pushing up. But I think I try to transfer the transparent growth to my new agar and see what happens.
