Light or contam causing BRF jars to pin early? 1

Hey guys first time grower. I'll give you a brief rundown of what's happening.
Have 2 tub in tub incubators (76 F) set up with BRF jars. One started 4 weeks ago and the other 3 weeks ago. The 4 week old incubator is totally in the dark, while the 3 week old gets a little ambient light from a basement window.
All the jars look pretty good. All white, no other colors. The 4 week olds are all almost totally colonized including the bottoms (But the top seems to be slow to colonize, right under the verm barrier). The 3 weeks are close, but about 1.5 inches behind the 4 weeks in terms of myc progress to the bottom of the jar.. however several of the 3 week old, ambient light getting jars have begun pinning within the jar.. meanwhile the jars are not even 3/4 done. And the 4 week olds that are in total darkness are looking more colonized.. yet not one of those jars have any pins.
So my questions are- are the pins a sign of a problem or most likely from the ambient light exposure?
Do the in jar pins pose a problem, even if they don't stem from a problem, can they cause a problem?
And, from what I thought I read.. you can keep your colonizing BRF jars in ambient light without a problem.. is that still true?
Should I move these to a totally dark location and see if they continue colonizing? any advice greatly appreciated, thanks

Ambient light isn’t going to be the issue.

then what is the issue being that not a single one of the jars kept in darkness are pinning?

Possibly caused by those tall jars. The stout wide mouth half pint jars work better for brf cakes.
The bottoms sometimes have trouble or don’t colonize at all so your cake just starts doing it’s thing. Bacteria can also cause that early pinning though I’m not good at judging bacteria on cakes.
I can say that light has never caused me problems, I’ve colonized everything in ambient out on dressers and shelves.

The bottom part looks too dry. They probably stalled out then fractured off from the bottom (cake-fracturing).
I would birth those cakes right now.
