Best species for an outdoor bed
    #26578121 - 04/04/20 09:13 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

I am interested in growing a small patch of edible mushrooms. I live in PA and hoping to get at least 2 good flushes. I have a patch in my garden that doesn't get sunlight and I am hoping I can grow some good mushrooms here instead of veggies. I was wondering if anyone has experience growing gourmet mushrooms outdoors. Considering oysters but was hoping to grow something with a better yeild dont have much experience growing edibles, but i know the basics of cubensis and woodlover cultivation.

King Stropharia works well for a garden bed. works well with plants in the bed too, makes a kind of living mulch

How much spawn do you think I would need for a 6ft² patch? I want to buy pre colonized spawn so i can get this project started as fast as possible, I dont want to miss the spring flush

Going to get some of the premade grow kits from the store to use as spawn so I dont have to wait for shipping, I want to get this show on the road as soon as possible. I know they have oysters but hoping i can find something more exotic.

Coprinus Comatus Is A Delicious Edible When Young. They Are Great Chopped Up & Sauteed In Butter.

It Should Be As Simple As Finding Some & Placing Them On & Around Your Garden. Maybe Add Some Straw Or Hay.

Was planning on mixing the spawn with straw in layers as I have seen in videos. I will post a grow log in case anyone is interested
