What is "Soma"?
-------------------- In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion. -Carl Sagan

I have never tried Amanita muscaria and never want to. Becoming nauseous, vomiting, ranting like an idiot, and then a coma like sleep just doesn't sound like fun to me.
Different strokes for diffrent folks, eh?
As far as season goes, I'm sure you could find that on this site or in a book.
And for culitivation... might as well forget that one. A. muscaria are mychorrizal. Cultivating mychorrizal mushrooms is something best left up to professional mycologists or biology majors. It's not practical for a novice to even try it.It's just too hard.

Different strokes indeed...though if conditions (elevation climate ect)are right, could you not take fresh caps and spread their spores about? (near the proper tree type hosts of course)... also you said---"Becoming nauseous, vomiting, ranting like an idiot, and then a coma like sleep just doesn't sound like fun to me."--- like any drug its all about dosage...of course I will admit, I have been waaaayyy to fucked up on them, but most of the time I just eat a little bit and smoke some MJ to offset the Nausea, Drink some Milk thistle for stomach discomfort...I think season is late summer to fall??? anyone correct me if I'm wrong, I am not positive on this.
