Multi-species ID request - Tasmania
    #26577091 - 04/04/20 11:26 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Hiya folks.

I've been sent these photos by my mum and dad, they seem to be finding the time to appreciate mushrooms growing near the house due to this pandemic - so it's not all bad. All found not far from Hobart, 200m above sea level.

I can't give much more information regards habitat etc. beyond what you see in the photos - sorry!

These last two were taken by my dad on his walk to Frenchman's Cap a few weeks ago.

Looking forward to read your responses.

Cheers!

Pics 1 & 2 Look To Be A Boletus Species. Very Big Ones At That.

Pics 3,4, & 5, Look To Be A Gymnopilus Species.

Pic 9 Looks To Also Be A Boletus Species.

Don't Know What The Rest Of Them Are, Wait For A TI.

Cheers for the response, much my own sentiments. I reckon that big bolete looking thing could be Phlebopus marginatus. Then yes some kind of Gymnopilus, maybe junionus. 7 & 8 I think are Psilocybe subaeruginosa. The rest I'm not sure, a bolete and...?

3,4 and 5 (maybe 6) are Gymnopilus
7 and 8 are Leratiomyces ceres

Not sure about 9 or your dads shots

I was under the impression some Gymnopilus species of Tasmania are active?

Correct, I Said None Were Psilocybe, I Didn't Say None Are Active.

Thanks for the input everyone. Yeah OOISI I agree that pics 7 & 8 look to be Leratiomyces ceres - haven't come across that one before myself. I've had clarification from mum n dad that pic no. 9 was actually with the mushrooms in photo 1 & 2 and they thought it was a young one. Casts doubt on the Phlebopus idea perhaps.
