Ventilation for room with bags/agar trays colonizing
    #26576944 - 04/04/20 09:32 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

So I have a small bedroom I use for my colonizing bags and agar. I was wondering if I should leave all the vents closed in that room?

It is on the top floor of my home, so I was considering opening the vent to keep it a bit warmer when the weather is cold.  weather is unpredictable here and makes it harder to grow for sure.

I was also considering using a vent filter/cover for some filtration of the incoming air.

I don't think that will help with anything

Opening the vent between the floors might be a good idea as heat goes upwards but
your best bet to keeping the room heated would be to get a small space heater.

You could get a really small one depending on the size of the room on how well insulated it is

I dont think you gotta worry too much with agar and especially spawn bags. They should all be sealed up anyways. The bags should have a filter patch to filter any air going in/out of the bag, and your agar dishes should be sealed with parafilm or saran wrap or something, unless you use tupperware containers or jars, in which case the lid screwed down should be enough.
