I’m blending up all the mycelia in the plate. So you are getting many inoculation points. I did 15 quarts the other day with with 1/4 plate and it took about 9 days to fully colonize.

Pretty much hunkered down here. Not selling many edibles so we backed way off on block production for now. I've donated a bunch of mushrooms to the soup kitchen the past 3 weeks since a bunch of restaurants closed or at least slowed down
Went a little crazy with toc grain spawn this week. I'm ashamed to say how many bags I've made this week but 3 5 shelf 36" racks are completely loaded with bags now I'm sure someone will want the spawn. They always do 😁

It’s all about the shake and thickness of the liquid inoculant.

I’m in the restaurant industry and it’s so bad, for well everyone involved, I have to say that is really awesome of you to do, so important that even if we can’t see and be with one another that we atleast help take care of those that can’t take care of themselves! Awesome Strom!
Hahaha I’m so jealous of the space you have for all those bags man!! Talk about doing work!

A lot of people hurting right now. Especially servers and bartenders that are used to daily pay and budgeted that way. If anyone has friends in this situation look out for them if you have the means. Don't sit around with cash in rubber bands knowing some of your peeps are needing groceries. Money given to friends don't even need to laundered! They ain't saying nuthin to nobody

Eats, I only use 1 agar plate for 4 one quart jars with blenderless. Does seem like a waste tho in a way.
I put a agar circle the size of a US half dollar in some sterilied water with around 400ml of water and shook the fuck out of it. But instead of taking off the lid and pouring, I just kept the lid on after the shake and put in my fridge. I was thinking of doing some bags with it since bags can hold more grain, I can quickly use up the myc water and at same time knock up larger quantity of grains.
How long do you think it will be ok in fridge? Also, should I let it get to room temp before pouring?

I used to blend up the plate and suck it into syringes to store for later inocultions. Or you can shoot a drop into plates for more masters. You can let it grow a few days room temp then slow down in the fridge. I’ve stored LI syringes for years. But if you are opening it too many times there is more exposure and risk associated.

I never really thought about putting a injection port on my jars. I always open air dumped them. It's a messy process, never found those cool lids.

I lift the lid. Suck it up into a syringe. No injection port necessary. Lids and blender are at walmart. 5$ and 8$. Ive used two for 10 plus years. Recently had to replace the rusted bands on two.

I rtv that to the top. But look at Goodman’s and you can’t find that kinda of stuff cheap. Those black assemblies will melt ice melted one. I had something similar called tribal container. It worked well. One drop shop for blending and pouring but the rtv doesn’t stick well to the plastic. All metal and glass for me.

I busted these jelly jars out a month ago when I came back. This was the original Oyster replacement bases with gaskets I did a write up years ago on. I never could get it to work flawlessly cause I was always messing with the gasket. They dont sit just right on the jelly jar. I wonder if I RTV the metal base to the Ring and RTV a fresh gasket to the inside of the blender base if they will work better. This one ran through an agar slurry and I never cleaned it out.

I rtv the gasket and band to the blender plate.disregard plate on right that is just to show how it would fit a wide mouth.

If you make the rtv seal too thick it will do that. You have to be a little tighter and less width on the silicone bead on the inside. They now have rrv in a can that is a little more accurate.
Tribal: this ones the best but the rtv doesn’t stick to the plastic well. But magnet in the glove makes the plug easy to take off and put back on between pours. I think I’m gonna put this back together. This one you drop blend and pour in the same container and it will hold almost a half pint volume.
