We're looking for a good strain of shiitake to grow on supplemented sawdust - can find lots of suppliers, but only a few who supply growing parameteres! Looking for quality, good fruitings/high yield from 3 or 4 flushings.
I have a culture from a shiitake farm in Takahama...
They grow on supplemented sawdust blocks... The temps in the colonisation chamber would lead me to think it's the 'warm weather strain' and the colonisation times are 3 - 4 months from innoculation to fruiting.
This probably isn't exactly what you were hoping for (but was as close as I could get with my limited Japanese ). I can assure you, however, that this is a proven, commercial strain.
I have some culture samples stored if you think it might be useful.
