Problems with cobweb mold
    #26575037 - 04/03/20 11:00 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

The last 3 runs I have done had cobweb mold.
What is the main cause of this and what can I do to prevent it?

I have increased air flow as I read lack of air is one cause of the mold, and I still have cobweb mold in most tubs after flush 2 or 3.

Also once I get cobweb mold, its easy to spread to other tubs quickly  correct? So I should just toss any tubs with cobweb mold immediately?

Cobweb on tubs? On the surface? Are you latching lids. We really need more information. Cobweb loves high humidity low FaE. What are you using for substrate?

Depending how you make your tubs 2-3 flushes is all they do produce.

After that time has passed they become old, dried out, weak, and it's
easy for contamination to take hold. There's contamination everywhere
in the air. Yes when they start to mold it's time they get tossed but
another tub is only going to contaminate if it too has become old and weak.

The cobweb mold is on the surface of the substrate, I am using coir, verm and gypsum.

I feel like it just keeps recontaminating my grows from the previous tubs leaving mold spores all over.

I have a small HEPA filter, would running that regularly help at all?

I think I may be over misting the tubs a bit, I got this garden sprayer thing that sprays much more efficiently than a small spray bottle. Im gona try to lay off with the spraying a bit. This sprayer makes it too easy to oversoak the tubs.
