Has Sprung!
Got all kinds of stuff popping up around the house.
Trillium cuneatum.

Urtica dioica.

Japanese Painted Fern.

My banana stump has babies encircling the whole stump!
It survived a zone 7 winter basically uncovered!

More Ferns.

Not sure on this one.
I think it's a Phlox.

What all is popping up around you all's houses?

I'm going to have to go take some pics out in the woods later, I found some flowering Lonicera sempervirens the other day. All the natives ferns have been popping out too, and the mullberry and paw paw trees are in full pollination mode.

wow man, I gotta see all that!
My Pawpaw tree is still bare, and all the ones in the woods are too.
Some of the stuff that I pictured actually all came from the wild, and I transplanted them at my house.
I took them from a wooded area that was about to be destroyed, so I don't consider this poaching.

The mushrooms are great. The mushrooms are fine. Give me them with lashings of wine.

not sure what that first one is, the second is called skunk cabbage
In my yard my peach trees are flowering and my hops are popping up. Fingers are crossed for some good wine cap yields after the rain.

very cool!
I've never seen skunk cabbage before.
I haven't found any wine caps in years
I need to cultivate my own.

My bed is well established. Although I need a fresh layer of natural mulch this year. when I pull up weeds this is what the roots look like

A few years ago I found a random palmetto seeding growing next to a sidewalk in downtown DC. The closest natural habitat for sabal palmettos is SE Virginia, although they do grow along the coast from Delaware south if cultivated.

No way!
How is that even possible?
I've been thinking of growing some of those ouT here, but I thought zone 7 would be a bit too cold.
Now I have hope!

Oh awesome, missed this earlier!
I really need to find some again so I can start up a bed!
I grew some before from stem butts in a pot of mulch.

Palm trees will survive in DC. Unfortunately that seedling was pissed on by too many dogs and died

There’s a wild lemon tree in a park across the street from my friends as well as some cultivated ones in the national botanical gardens. The big one is wild and had thousands of lemons last year

That is fantastic!
You're grow zone 7 right?
That tree is wicked, but it's not a lime tree, it's a Trifoliate Orange tree.
The only citrus tree that can survive that far up north.
The oranges are just ornamental and not edible.

Maybe te little tree. The big tree is a lemon cause I’ve used them. I think it’s a Meyer lemon.

The leaves look tri foliate in both the picks. You probably have a decent tasting cultivar, or. Maybe you have some sort of hybrid. Bur lemons don't have tri foliate leaves.
