Germination of agar

Once you have put spores on mea agar dish what temperature room should they be left in during growth, and should they be sat upside down during the first week of growth?
New to this.., I may have put quite a few drops in each dish rather than just one or two. Will that be a big problem with germination ?

Normal room temperature and some indirect light is fine for them. Anything like 68-75°F. You don't have to flip them upside down and multiple single drops in different places is good.

Ok, thank you.. I did 4 pre made mea dishes. On two of them there is enough spore juice where I can see it move around if I moved the dish from side to side. Was just worried I may have put to much in it. I sealed them with micropore tape. Put tape around the edge and then one around it just to make sure lid was secure. Sorry for the complete noob status.. I tried looking for a germinating agar tek or a germ agar 101 but couldn’t find much.

It's ok we all have to start somewhere, it's a journey.
It sounds like you did use a too much spore juice but it might be fine anyhow. Just wait and watch and don't move them around just let them sit

As stated I wrapped them in micropore tape. Should I wrap them in saran wrap to so absolutely nothing can get in?

Saran wrap is a good idea. In my understanding its both about not letting spores in and not letting moisture out. Dry plates aren't super great to work with.

I thought plates were just supposed to get parafilm used on them.
So I'm not real sure on this one. I use 1/4 pint wide mouth jars
with sfd & 4 hole lid setup so I don't have to deal with any of that
kind of stuff.

I can say from experience, micropore wrapped plates dry out really fast.

Micropore works. Yeah, it dries out fast compared to other methods, but there should be plenty of time to let spores germinate and then let the mycelium grow out that plate and probably even pin.
Micropore, saran wrap, parafilm, everything works.

Yeah for sure Parafilm is preferred, but it can be pricey for some people (like me)

Many people actually prefer saran wrap to parafilm

Im glad this was asked as I was also wondring. I've recently noc'd 10 plates ms, two of which with a year old syringe I found in its box under the sink with a couple cc left.. so interested to see how they fair. The others with a new syringe; some of the plates have a bit of liquid on the surface (Im using normal 1/4 pint jars and I admit the agar didnt turn out great, there are some lumps of potato flakes in the worse plates but agar's flexible.. right?) As per the comments here I've cling filmed (saran wrap?) the jars and just put them atop a cupboard where they shall get indirect sunlight daily to germinate.

I personally hate saran wrap. I always end up with a wad of useless plastic after trying to get it to tear.

Do cut your roll down to 1-2" width or do you just use the whole roll?

I have MEA 4 Petri dishes. All have growth started. I’ve been keeping them in a room that’s 75F all the time. There is a lot of condensation of the tops of all of them. After what I’ve read I’ve turned them all upside down and moved them to a room that is quite a bit cooler in hopes the water evaporates. Any advice? Should I flip them back to up right and put them back in the room that’s 75F all the time?. I’m Sure if I didn’t look at them everyday 4-5 times a day this wouldn’t be an issue. But I’m new and learning and very interested.. So is there a chance the water inside will evaporate? If not or if so, should I, when should I flip the Petri dishes back over to normal side? Also all the dishes are wrapped in micropore tape... I’ll buy the right wrap my next go around. I should have for this time.. smh.. since I went out of my way to order pre made mea Petri dishes...
