Monotub still not fruiting after 3 weeks. Pics

I fruited this tub 3 weeks ago. I had a low spawn to substrate ratio and didn't figure it out until I reread the tek. Coir, verm, and gysum substrate. Should I abandon all hope or any recommendations?

Well it looks like it has some contamination, possibly bacterial. But it may still give you some good fruits. The low spawn ratio will increase the colonization time. I'd let it sit, it's not hurting anything as of right now.

you can use straight up coir by itself.
1 brick of coir and 4.5 quarts of boiling water in a 5 gallon bucket.
4-6 myco-quarts of spawn to 1 coir brick is fine and will achieve full colonization within 10 days with proper conditions.
pins can take up to 2 weeks to show, even 3 in some cases
i'm actually seeing one to two pins on your sub, so you should have more on the way.
pinning:

provide adequate FAE and surface moisture

Thanks, this is my first mono-tub attempt. I started a 2nd one that had a bacteria issue and never took off and had a bad smell so I had to dump it. Hoping to get some fruit off this one eventually. Thankfully, my pf-tek is going better and keeping me enjoying my quarantine.

Looks a lil wet. If it's in fruiting conditions, give it a little more FAE. Evaporation is one of the main triggers for pinning. Maybe take the top off and fan 2-3 times a day or just grab a fan and blow near your tub for about 30 mins a day. If it gets dry from the FAE just mist a lil bit, but don't over mist.

Yeah looks ok but real wet.
Coir shouldn’t look black like that.

Just wanted to point out I don't believe the Tek xnirvanax posted says to use 4.5qts h2o to 1 brick. It says 4.5qts to one brick AND two qts verm. (I use 4 personally)
Looks over saturated as others said. I'd move on to more projects.

If that black stuff isn't part of your sub and that grew there during consolidation period or when you put it into fruiting conditions you might as well throw it out.. It is contaminated.

That has been there since the beginning. I used pellitized gypsum so it may have turned the coir darker when it dissolved into the substrate when I mixed it before pasteurization? I know it turns the water dark gray when it dissolves.

I haven't used gypsum in my bulk sub before so i couldn't tell you.. However, if it has been there since the beginning, you may have a good chance at getting some decent fruits. Do as we said before; add some FAE into your routine and you should get some pinning. Your mycelium looks healthy and looks ready to produce under the right conditions. Keep us posted!
