Mushroom Poisoning - Tell Your Story

Have any of you guys ever accidentally consumed a toxic mushroom/plant? For those of you that have let's hear about it!
Sometimes learning what not to do can be just as helpful as anything else. I'm a relatively new guy on the scene, and I feel some nice scare stories will help promote a healthy level of caution whilst foraging for wild edibles.

This isnβt a sneaky way of saying that YOU ingested some questionable mushrooms is it? Because if you did, you are better off to confess now and seek help.
Just saying.

Nope just read article on poisonous shroomies and the effects appear to be quite morbid. Thought it'd be cool to hear peoples personal experiences. That's all

Perhaps you should change the thread title to something like "Mushroom poisonings - tell your story" to make it a bit more obvious what the thread is about. Although in general, I have the impression that most users of this forum are quite sensible and careful when it comes to ingestion of mushrooms, so I believe it is quite far between the poisonings.
Any chance you could link to the article you read?

Thanks and sure. Here it is: https://namyco.org/mushroom_poisoning_syndromes.php
I'll add this as well, although many people on here may be well versed in what mushrooms to avoid, even the most expertest of experts on mushrooms were at some point at ground 0 with little knowledge. So expecting most peoples' stories to be from when they were a fledgling in the game.

Couple things -
I've eaten undercooked morels and had stomach turning through the night and into the next day.
A year ago I picked some Almond Mushrooms. Tasted great. Following morning both my roommate and me had pretty minor gastrointestinal distress, but enough for both of us to mention it. I had never eaten this species but was 100% certain v that's what they were.
I've always wanted to try an elfin saddle dried, but am a bit scared...

Maybe you're confusing with Agaricus? There are no species of Agrocybe that are known to be toxic, as far as I know.
That being said, you can get stomach discomfort and mild GI upset from eating uncooked mushrooms even if they're not toxic.

Those Cortinarius seemed to be especially heinous with person whose consumed them not showing symptoms for up to almost a month after. All the while, little do they know their kidneys have been getting raped its toxins. Sure it's a horrid way to go out.
