Contam spreading? First contam. 1

So this is my first contam. One of the boxes had one harvest going on two, the other one is on its first harvest. I’m thinking I harvested the one poorly, and the stumps caused the contam..
1. Did the stumps cause the contam, or was it the conditions inside the tub?
2. Did the contam spread to the other tub? I’ve had good harvests until now, the conditions were the same as my other tubs which went great.

I don't see anything going on with the with the 1st and 3rd pictures, other than a couple mutants.
The one in the middle is what my tubs looks like when I leave stumps after a flush. They abort, decay and leaves the sub susceptible for an invasive fungus to come in.
It won't contaminate your other substrates, given your spawn is healthy, but you should isolate it from your other tubs.

Well I feel better now, I threw a tub away already. Oh well...
Do you see the green stuff though?

In the 3rd pic, that looks like bluish bruising to me, from water droplets perhaps?
Keep an eye on it. If trich pops up, throw a pile of salt on it until you can harvest your flush.

There’s a better picture. I’ve never seen this before, and not sure what happened/why it would be there. The mushrooms are dying in that area.

Those mushrooms are definitely rotting and that looks like a grey mold/fungus. That patch of snow-white on the bottom right looks like the beginning stages trich.
Harvest the mushrooms contaminated by the mold now as they'll just decay more and drop then a pile of salt on the moldy section, let the rest grow out and harvest when ready. Toss the sub after.

Thanks for looking, I thought that patch looked bad. How does one normally get trick? Or anything for that matter.
For my first few tubs, all I did was mix my sub, left the top shut and that’s it. I think I sprayed a little on these, maby it was too wet? Do I have to worry about the CLOSET the other tubs are in?

You more than likely had some dirty spawn. They can remain dormant until the sub fragile enough for it to germinate.

Each tub looks like it had some issues. The fruits grew chaotic and often mutated maybe because of bacteria or something else, and then the Trich started to do its thing, which are the bright white areas that will go green.
When you spawn the tubs you’re getting all kinds of contaminant spores mixed in and that’s normal, if your grain spawn is healthy it’s already way ahead and will colonize the bulk sub first. But as it gets weaker you will start getting other things popping up. And if you have bacteria or some not so aggressive mold already living with your stuff then the tub can go south much quicker.

I think a little less mist and more air would help a lot.
Those look a lot like tubs I harvest then stack in the corner and forgot about while waiting for second flush, then I’ll randomly remember and check them.
Fresh air seems to be huge for preventing molds. The tubs I’ve left on the bottom of a stack seem to be the first to get contamination.

How do you get the stubs out? Do you dig them out with the knife or do you twist and pull to harvest?

I use a curved tip long handled medical scissors and can get them about right at the sub level. Then I just leave the tiny amount left there and don't care about it.

Amazon just search for Curved Medical Veterinary Scissors then go with a longer length but there's a lot of different kinds and shapes to choose from

Does contam spread from one tub to other tubs through the air? Idk if I should worry about my other tubs, I even have all my agar in the same area. It’s a semi bigger closet...
Should I store my agar in a storage tote rather than the closet with the trich

are the stumps in my shoebox too big? It’s a bitch to get some out without cutting them. I’m trying not to rip my sub up again.

There's all sorts of contams in the air anyhow tubs don't contaminate other tubs anymore than the air does. It's still air inside a tub. Your stumps don't look to big but doing a tidy job is always good too. Any problems come from the issues Adhorrent Chief said.
