Help identifying 3 specimen!
    #26571431 - 04/01/20 03:03 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Post 200!

So I found these growing next to a handful of ovoids and wasn't feeling good about them. Hoping someone might have an idea of what they are!

Specimen #1:

Habitat: In a small flood plain in NW Georgia. Next to a handful of ovoids in a forest of creeping Charlie.

Stem: 1.5" - 2" long, 1cm diameter, tannish

Cap: 2" diameter, light cream to tan color, almost flat

Gills: spaced out, dark brown, and...adnexed??(its a long and slow process but I am trying to familiarize myself with more of the terminology and what not. Any help is sincerely appreciated!)

Spores: No time for a print yet!

Specimen #2:

Habitat: In a small flood plain in NW Georgia. Next to a handful of ovoids in a forest of creeping Charlie.

Stem: 1.5" - 2" long, 1cm diameter, whitish near gills to tan at the base

Cap: 2" diameter, tan around the edges fading to light brown, maybe umbonate?(again, please help xD)

Gills: somewhat close, tan, and they look almost free?

Spores: No time for a print yet!

Specimen #3:

Habitat: Same area as the first two, but this was growing out of the mud and roots of a fallen tree

Stem: 3+" long, 1.5cm diameter, sturdy, and yellowish brown

Cap: 3"-6" diameter, dark brown almost black around the edge, velvet-y almost scaly like some gymnopilus I have found

Gills: close, very dark almost black

Spores: No time for a print yet!

I think #1 is a super weathered old Ovoid. you can see bluish bruising on the gills and on the stem base

#2 might be Inocybe.

I would like to see a clear picture of the stem base on #1, I think I see what Doc g is talking about but want to see a better picture.

2 is a toss up between Agrocybe and Inocybe  for me.

3 I agree with Lacrymaria.

I think its a shot in the dark saying 1 is a void. The stem is to dark and the gills dont seem right
