Some habitat pics. Look in those sunny, south facing banks for the early fruits. Totally unrelated. Brewing my own alcohol for disinfectant purposes. I haven’t seen a bottle of alcohol for two weeks🤦♂️

Curious as to what in particular would cause a south facing bank produce fruit earlier? Guessing it might have something to do with the sun.

In the northern hemisphere, south-facing slopes are warmest because the sun stays mostly in the southern half of the sky.

Unless I observe something special, I wont post much if any pics the rest of the season.

I’m in Eastern North Carolina. First time hunting and very interested in Ovoids. Been looking in my backyard which is mostly a Pine Forest. There is a small creek a few minutes walk away from my property. How close in relation to the water source on decomposing wood would voids be? Just the soil has to be saturated? Pic for exact habitat. Note how much leaves there are on the ground complicating hunting. Following thread.

Don’t waste your time in a piney forest. Look for hardwoods in flood plains. Generally a foot to two yards above the creek level. Meandering creeks in old oxbow depressions are the best. Look where the grass meets the sand banks.
