I’d chalk it up to the city having the highest concentration of hunters, I’m seeing these lots of places now that I know where to look

Hey Doc, I was wondering how often you're chowing down on your finds?
I need to check again but I feel like I noticed a lot of times your photos are of unharvested shroos. Are you just a thrill of the hunt kinda guy?

Definitely a thrill of the hunt person. I’ll eat a couple here and there when hunting occasionally but I never really do a heavy dose, I don’t find it very recreational anymore.

I respect it! I can't explain the feeling I get when I find actives..definitely a high in itself. It blows my fucking mind every time hahah
I can't see myself doing any more hero journeys with mushrooms either. I enjoy the almost daily micro dosing when the hunt permits though!

I just love hunting mushrooms. I'm usually after edibles. Actives are like the rare Pokemon.
Scouted the perimeter of some professional buildings today. Found some lacs which I hope signify things to come.

I definitely want to branch into the edibles as well. Not much luck in that field yet but I'm trying to learn and expand and what not

I'm with you guys there. My primary focus is always on edibles and just being out in the woods. Every now and then I'll clone some oysters for a grow or 2 but it's mainly just the thrill of the hunt. I am on a mission though to find and collect, even if 1 specimen, the active mushrooms of Georgia. While I do still partake in the mental vacations, it seems to be fewer and fewer as I get older....maybe I've sorted out all the things I needed too or maybe I'm just old hahaha

Congrats to all who have found ovoids in GA this season. Way to go, y'all.
I'm beginning to think that they're just as common there as they are in VA.

What’s going on beautiful people on GA? Haven’t been on this thread in a while. I haven’t been hunting for actives in quite some time. Well this spring at least. I did find probably 30 pounds total of oysters this winter. I’ve also found a few handfuls of morels this week. Don’t worry, I won’t post any photos to angry the purists. Haha stay safe out there boys. Wish me luck tomorrow. Going to check some spots I seeded for weilii.

How often are y'all finding ovoids in man made areas? Just curious. I've only really looked out in the woods while morel/oyster hunting.

Probably better off sticking with the woods. It’s easier to identify whether you’re in a favorable habitat for them. But I think there may have been a find in Atlanta area on mulch.

Was the only patch I seen. But next few days ought to bring more. Was hoping to have time to check a few areas in the pasture beside here. And the creek bottom. May be able to hit them the next few days durning lunch.
