Now I just need to see how long after your 18 days for me and we have a great outline to watch. Then I need a live feed every spring of the tree.

Saw a couple dozen pins about 20 miles SW of Fredericksburg, VA.
And I still haven't seen or heard of any ovoids being observed in the rappahannock river watershed.
I put colonized debris in about 15 places on the river three years ago, spanning from about a mile West to half a mile east of Fredericksburg. Ive only been back to check one of those spots, though
This past sunday my hunting partner put more spawn a little over 20 miles west of Fredericksburg on the Rapp. One of these days there will be many ovoids on that river.

So morels have been found locally. I'm on the final countdown in my area. This thread should be blowing up over the next 7days with finds.

I know a guy who hunts the rappahannock.

Right on. So obviously he's finding ovoids on the Rapp?
Edit: assuming he does, about how many years has he been finding them there?

That's the name of the game.
I suggest everyone establish mulch beds at or near their houses--one can learn a lot by close observation of the life cycle from colonization to fruiting--and use that to expand their spawn. Then, take that and make colonies on creeks, rivers, & mulch beds everywhere.

I just got 2 decent size box elder trees off a jobsite, I made a bed with except used the bigger logs as the box broke up all the twigs and sticks laid some bigger branches on top and used a chainsaw to get some sawdust everywhere broke up the rest of that into chunks and watering it down every other day. Hoping ill see a few fall fruits or something next year. And start taking that out to the south river and yellow river here in Ga where nothing but box elder island.

Found some wine caps Monday, & a few dried Galerina I think but NO Ovoids. Still early I think for my area.

I need to hit my wine cap spot. Had them growing in my yard, but they died off. Tasty and meaty mushroom, that one.

I'm guessing that no pictures means no finds or are you guys just to busy to go hunt or locked down?

Stupid galerina. If only we had a sorcerer's stone that turned galerina into ovoids.

Some more crusty boys. First time finding them in landscaped mulch at park. Growing in a ridiculously dense cluster. Left most of them.

The coastal plain doesn’t seem to be a great habitat
Would you say this is because of the habitat itself, or the lack of incoming water sources that would bring them to the area?

Ok guys I want to make sure 100% I'm right. Here is what I found in the middle of my patch. Nothing else but it's still early. They are a little more brown than I'm used to so I want to make sure.
