That sounds how mine was. I know a lot of people say you shouldn't see ANY drips or stream until you're squeezing as hard as you can, but mine was already doing that when I was already just starting squeezing. Are you saying I need to squeeze and wring it all the way out each handful first when putting it in the shoebox?

I certainly find drier is more better. With grain, coir and underpants.

I know, but I know you're supposed to see at least the sides of the coir begin to spread and colonize somewhat, even a little, but it's not. My last couple tries my box ended up just looking like that for weeks, nothing more happened. I know I did MS to grain which is considered frowned upon, but still out of all those one should of been successful. Let's say even if it was bacterial it should still colonize and fruit somewhat... So I'm trying to figure out if it's my bulk substrate or what because I'm about to spawn some A2G jars that look amazing, AA+, and I don't want a repeat of this. I'm trying to figure out what I may be doing/making incorrectly.

Nope not true at all. It can definitely not colonize and fruit from dirty spawn.

That literally looks exactly as I would expect in 3 days. I have week old shoeboxes that looked identical 3 days in.

Looking good man just wait it out.
Hitlertonin ..20min ๐๐
Mooshi you can get bacterial spawn to fruit sometimes depending on how bad it is, how strong the culture etc. My best outdoor flush was from sickly sweet bacterial oats, spawned to untreated hpoo and verm. The outdoor air helps with that situation I think.

LOL haha that's funny as shit! Well personally, I think it may have to do with the spawn, because compared to my agar inoculated jars that are finishing up, they don't look the same at all. I thought the MS syringe one looks good and how it should be, but my agar ones look totally different. They are so uniform, and there are strands of hyphae and rhizomorphs covering each and every grain. The MS syringe ones were just like a build of white that just keeps getting thicker and thicker and then doesn't envelope every grain. These agar ones I have are completely encapsulating every grain uniformly, you can definitely tell the difference. Every grow I have tried has been MS to grain, and it's possible every time I have had bacterial spawn no matter what and it never colonizes or fruits.
It may look like the it is colonizing the coir, but it isn't, it's just flared up, and is going to stay like that for weeks until some sort of scent starts. Hopefully the agar ones I have go different, because already just in the colonizing jars it looks way different. After the shake and recovery times of the grains it's almost colonized in just 3 days. With my MS jars it took like a week to fully colonize, and even then it never truly looked liked it was wrapped around every grain. I don't get how people can get MS to grain work, hasn't worked me for me once yet in my handful of tries.

Dude, this is colonizing just as it should. Leave it alone for a few days and don't touch the box.
Mycelium on coir looks a bit different than it does on grains. Just leave it be for a few days and then come back to us with some nice colonized pics.
