Has anyone seen mold show up on caps during drying?

It seems like after drying for a couple days the caps are turning grayish green or blue. Like a powdery mildew? I have a 10x magnification and it seems healthy caps have a smooth golden appearance but these really look like mold or mildew to me. I just put the picked mushrooms on racks in a closet with a large desiccant box in the closet. I have never seen the caps turn colors like this.

There’s just too much air in a closet to help you with that. You have to fan dry them first to get the bulk of the moisture out or they will go bad. I’ve put them inside the vent grate in my ceiling when I was younger to get some steady air through them or just point a desk fan at them, then you seal them in a Tupperware with a cup of desiccant.

Or get a dehydrator if you can, that’s best.
