...because. Ever been through a divorce trip? I have seen the most awful shit ever from seemingly "normal" people in divorces. He might have a little chica in costa rica!

The guy apparently was a player according to the documentary. His love of different women (the more the better) probably superceded all his other interests.
He also reportedly went to Costa Rica like once a month. He probably had a team of chicas down there.

I haven't finished the second episode yet, lol. If he was going there once a month, he has a family or 2 there, maybe more!

The last thing he told that one dude was, "if I pull this off it'll be the slickest thing I've ever done in my life". He clearly had a major love for Costa Rica. And he definitely wanted to get as far away from Carole as he could. Maybe his slick plan was to start a new life in Costa Rica.
I know, I'm reaching. He did leave all his money and assets behind, right? So I don't know how he'd pull off a new life without that, but...idk.
I think him and her were involved in some shady business and had alot of money people didn't know about and was fearing being found out or some type of prosecution and he left the assets to her to cover for him. Either way I think she definitely knows what happened to him. She set it up to make it look like he died in a plane crash or he disappeared from "Alzheimer's" by saying he crashed alot of planes and wasn't right after one. The problem with those theories are she would of noticed a plane missing if he crashed one of his planes and everyone that knew him said he absolutely didn't have Alzheimers.
I remember watching this fbi statement analysis guy a while back that said people generally tell the truth when they're lying. So her saying that he flew the plane under the radar leads me to believe that that has something to do with his disappearance whether she through him out or that was the plan to get him out of the country safely.

Without having never found a body, is it feasible that some of his vast wealth was spent setting up an alias and a new life down there??
I also wonder if and when the prosecutors will ever look at bringing charges against Jeff Lowe and the life size Chucky doll...because my guess is there’s still a wide range of holes in their stories to explore yet.

I don't think it's 100% out of the realm of possibility...but I do think admittedly it's probably unlikely.
BUT...he did have a deep love for Costa Rica, and as an avid flyer (who owned private planes himself), undoubtedly had access to people who could fly him off (and probably undetected). Then there's that quote of his too -- the one where (right before he left) he said that if he could pull it off it would be the slickest thing he would ever do in his life.
He had something up his sleeve for sure. Now whether or not he succeeded in that or not...

One thing I've pondered is if the "slickest thing" line could be about a massive drug deal or something else. Divorce does seem pretty likely, but he could have also specifically meant it about moving the zoo to costa rica.
Also assuming he did want to flee, I'd think he would use costa rica as a cover. It sounds like that was one of the places the cops actually bothered investigating for a few days. So why not fly north to Canada or something. Would be hard to track him once he got across the border and he could easily fly to Europe and vanish for good. But I think the big hole in that plan is him giving up all his wealth, so either he had a sizable stash he managed to flee with or he really died.

Yeah Jeff and the fat waterski guy really need to be looked into more thoroughly. Really seems like they threw Joe under the bus to take the fall and distract from their own shady shit.

Just started watching this. What an interesting show! This war with the animal rights activists over the right to have tigers as pets basically raised the question in my mind that why can't one have a wild cat as a pet compared to a domesticated cat? The tigers seem happy and loving their owner which is proof of that. These cats get to be outside, but some people have pet cats inside all the time in a small apartment. As a cat lover myself I really feel that this Joe guy is doing the right thing. Well I am only in the first episode so maybe that will change.

yeah.. watch the whole thing... it gets insane.. I have no problem with cats in a big habitat.. a 20x20 cage isn't good.. BUT at least the cats are alive and not being hunted..

Alright I'm on episode 4 now. The boiling hatred this guy had for Baskins -- he was completely obsessed by her. The seething hatred he had for her, I wouldn't have been surprised if he would have walked straight into her cat sanctuary and unloaded a clip right there.
He reached a point where Carole Baskins consumed his mind probably literally every waking second of the day. I mean the guy made music videos about her. Dressed up in a bloody rabbit costume and protested outside her place. Flew a helicopter over her place. Dedicated like 60 internet live streams to her. Had a fundraiser dedicated to her to raise money for his legal expenses. Put a dildo into the mouth of a blowup doll that was supposed to be her and then shot the head of said blowup doll with his gun. And that's probably just scratching the surface.
shit is crazy

For sure. Whether or not it was a ‘tongue-in-cheek’ comment, what really got me thinking he’s actually certifiable was this statement -
