Finished episode 2 last night. How about that one dude who molds young girls to be his employees and future wives. Yikes. The most normal guy was the Cuban drug smuggler, lol.
Looking forward to episode 3, the infamous Carol Baskins and her mysteriously missing husband episode. May watch this evening.

That guy sounds EXACTLY like a guy that does drunk reviews of movies/games... can't find the channel right now though.
AHHHH found it.. has to be the same guy

Yeah that dude was a creep. I wonder how his kids are doing
Was pretty shocked that dude apparently did over 500 movies for Hollywood, supplying animals and training them for movies. Grew up watching a lot of movies he supplied the animals for.
There are some surprises at the end around Doc Antle but they don't get explored at all as the shit was happening while they were finishing up the documentary.

That guy is a huge fucking creep, and the only one that was more icky was Jeff Lowe. That is a man made out of red flags if I ever saw one.

Thought it was funny and even more disturbing how Joe and that other redneck guy with tigers looked up to Doc Antle and his harem. The way they talked about him "training his women" was pretty fucked up.
Also weird how Doc Antle says he lives alone in the documentary and isn't married, yet has multiple houses for different women to live in on his property. Doesn't seem like the best use of money when you have tons of animals to take care of.

Jeff was still pretty creepy but seemed more like a typical middle aged swinger that happened to have access to tiger cubs to lure in women.
Though Jeff also apparently choked his first wife, so clearly he was still a creepy asshole. The documentary just doesn't focus on him quite as much since he shows up partway through and was still up to shit when it ended.

ugh his attitude towards his wife is disgusting - I got the vibe that he pretty much views her as an object, especially his comments about her getting back in the gym as soon as she gave birth. I hope she's okay in general. Fucking terrible person, and a huge con man.

Jeff or Antle?
It's weird how similiar all the big cat people in the documentary are, seems like big cats attract a certain type of person. Or even the power of having big cats turns you into that...
All 3 of the main people had cult like followings and crazy levels of narcissism. They all seemed to care for animals especially initially but ended up distracted by the byproducts of the fame and power the animals gave them.

I mean this is entertaining in a very morbid twisted kind of way -- not that far off from people slowing down to look at a car accident (not that that's entertaining but you know what I mean) but I gotta say after an episode it makes me want to take a shower lol

Jeff, for sure.
Antle was weird in his own right, and his little cult he was running was all kinds of fucked up, he was certainly creepy as well - but I didn't actually get a chance to see how he interacted with his wife and the women in his little tiger harem. The way Jeff talked at(not to, at) his wife just spoke volumes to me, for some reason.
And yeah, I absolutely agree it attracts a weird breed of people. Same with horses - like a solid 1/3 - maybe more - of the people I knew while I was actively involved in the showjumping world were certifiably insane.

They got caught and tried to blame me for it. The cop that interviewed me said he believed me when I told him jeff came to my house in it. He/they shouldn't have tried to blame me for robbing that house. I got away clean, but never did that again.
Sounds like the same dude. Like exactly something that scumbag would do as a kid.

None of them ever gave a shit about the animals if they did they wouldn't of bred them to keep them in a cage the rest of their life's. It was all about their own ego and amusement. But I agree that they initially cared somewhat about the animals before they saw the money and power it gave them and became increasingly careless and corrupt.

I mean sure Carole is the most obvious suspect in her ex-husband's "disappearance"...but he did seem like he was maybe making an escape of sorts.
The last thing he told that one dude was, "if I pull this off it'll be the slickest thing I've ever done in my life". He clearly had a major love for Costa Rica. And he definitely wanted to get as far away from Carole as he could. Maybe his slick plan was to start a new life in Costa Rica.
I know, I'm reaching. He did leave all his money and assets behind, right? So I don't know how he'd pull off a new life without that, but...idk.

He was probably talking about leaving the broad, and that’s what made her decide to disappear him..
Kinda like how Cobain was going to leave his broad and then she decided to disappear him..

I went to Costa Rica for one month, Feb 2004. It would be REALLY easy to get lost there. Packs of smokes were 50 cents, beers also, Budweiser even! In the places I visited everyone/a lot of people (locals too) spoke English or broken English and the town was 60 percent expats from USA that owned businesses. San Jose I think. Went to Montezuma, and the place where that famous surf shop is. Scored some coke just asking a random stranger on the street as well as some weed. Not sure how it is there now though. I do have a friend there that I could visit...That dude could have had a safe full of unreported money and used that to disappear with. Overseas account(s) that no one knew about as well.

Yes, but why though
He could just get a divorce and leave with half his stuff on top of his secret Costa Rica stash
