You don’t want to try to mimic those grow kits you see, most people show up here asking why they’re not working. Cased grain does work but not as well as just mixing your grain up with a little coir/verm.
Do you plan on doing another grow?

Yeah, you are right.... but was the first grow, I was thinking to buy a kit so i decided that as the first time would be simplest just to mimic it.
I've another batch that's colonizing now (popcorn under a casing of 50peatmoss/50vermiculite)
My plan is to try also a cloning from the best mushroom i get in honey liquid culture, spawn to rye, then spawn to 50/50 horse manure and vermiculite. Just to try everything

Sorry to bother again, but my box has begun to take a color that I don't like. It's yellowish.
The mushroom are still growing, but seems to have something on them, and obviously I'm again worried about contamination.
The mushrooms can be "cleaned" with a cotton swab, the "thing" can easily been removed. Here after some light attempt to cleaning:

I wondering if it is contamination, and if yes what kind. If it is, I think I've exaggerated on misting.
So what should I do now? Trash all now? Keep growing this flush (are these mushrooms safe to eat?) and then trash it? Continue as is?
Thanks again for the support.

I think it could be useful to add that I can't smell any strange smell other than typical mushrooms smell.

Can It be? I was afraid do be exaggerating with misting... since the previous flush the substrate was shrinking, I kept misting very very often... every two hour.
But after I clean them, two caps develop some cracks, that seems to be a clue pointing do dehidration...

Keep your RH up. What are you using for a Fruiting Chamber?
Also the original white speckles on that caps are normal. But like Cron said the caps are splitting because of low Humidity and they are drying out.

Hi Sockadin, I'm using a plastic tub of 20x15x10 inches I'm keeping the lid cracked, misting and fanning every two hours between 10am to 12am.
I mist abundantly with a spray bottle. For this, and seeing that "mud" over the mushroom I thinked it was too much. (I repost here the detail image to which I refer)

Lowering the frequency of misting to about 3 times a day resulted in the cracked caps, so I suppose you both are right when you say they lack humidity.
[[In the last image you see a paper box in the background because I temporary removed the box from the tub for a deep clean of the tub, because I wa worried for the contamination]]
