I ended up quitting. My company was doing absolutely nothing to protect the patients or employees, and I can't risk bringing something home.

Psychiatric rehab
It started spreading like wildfire there the week after I quit (I still get the emails), there are a bunch of different programs and group homes and lots of staff rotate between locations. The CEO is sending out emails about how most people that get COVID have very mild symptoms and recover quickly. There are about 1000 things they could do to protect everyone but zero leadership to make anything happen.
They offered an extra $1-2 per hour for people aged 20-40 in good health to work with the patients who've tested positive. With no PPE and precautions, they're basically paying people to get the virus and spread it until they're too sick to come in anymore

I think you made a sound choice to protect yourself and those around you. While more rare, people in the prime of their life are getting their asses handed to them. I wouldn't want to roll the dice and find out. Good luck picking up something else when the time is right. Hopefully the financial hit doesn't leave you in a bind.

You absolutely did make the right choice imo. Your life is worth more than 80 extra bucks a week. Fuck that. I would do the exact same thing in your position.
Everyone who can work from home at my company finally is, I told them I was done coming in a couple weeks back and have been working remotely since. My company designs and implements industrial lighting systems for hospitals(among others), so we're deemed essential and our manufacturing plants are all open. I feel bad for the folks in the trenches who are stuck on site. It's not fair.

Ive been off work for the last 2 weeks. Facility fully shut down then. We have a tentative return date of April 5th, which is fast approaching, but I think since the distancing policy was extended to the 30th (I think), we probably wont be going back until at least then.
Im all signed up for unemployment though, so at least Ill be getting some income to keep me afloat, even if it is only about 50%.

Bad.
I could never picture just going back to whatever. It will feel really nice to do something completely different.
If I go back to the same old routine. All of my old problems will just resurface. It will hold me back from my true potential.
I'm not going the live lies anymore. The lies from which I've seen through.

Lost my job two weeks ago as a temp so I have nothing to fall back on. Been actively looking since and have one thing lined up that will likely have me back on debt i just got out of.

I'm in IT so have been magically pulling 100s of laptops out if my ass and prepping them so people can work remotely. Every day feels like Friday, like it's been a long hard week but it's almost over. Even Monday felt like that this week. Almost out of there though. My people should be all gone by the weekend and I'll have the place to myself... then I'll be working from home as well.
Can't wait for the week to end.

I'm in the automotive industry and we've had to shut down our plant due to Honda Of America shutting down the many plants that purchase and use our parts,
So we have shut down Not to avoid spread of disease but cause no one is buying cars and it worries me how long itll last I'm supposed to go back next Monday but we will see

If I could retire right fucking now, I would. Still working, but the business is in trouble. I'm updating my resume tonight. I don't want to work in a hospital, but I might have to. If I could get into another clinic setting I would.

My wife and I both lucked out, both of our businesses are safe and busy. But deep concern and sympathy for all the failing industries, and the people caught up in the confusion. Sometimes change is good. Sometimes it's gut wrenching.

Destruction is a form of creation.
Though of course that means fuck all to us all right now. I hope the future that is defined and created by this event is a better one, but we're at an incredibly vulnerable time, and things are gonna get..hairy, I think.
When you think about human history, and how rife it is with conflict and disaster, it really makes these last 70 odd years of peace and prosperity and unprecedented growth seem more and more like a fading anomaly.

I started my seventeen day vacation this past Saturday. Was gonna go to Canada twice, but that's not happening. I got my passport in time though. I was gonna pick up shifts at work, but now I don't know if I'm even going back there anytime soon if ever because of what's going on. I want to make money online some way. I've been wanting to before this started.

Switching over to remote work but it’s definitely a tough time. Sense of stagnation in the home is most difficult though, grieving loss of old routines taken for granted.

Hasn’t been the best few weeks of my life, that’s for sure. Girlfriend of 10 years broke up with me before leaving for her new job in Nevada. Then she couldn’t go because of all the stay at home orders so we are still living together. I got let go from job 12 days ago. Trying to fill my time volunteering for a non profit working with marine mammals.
