Rains coming tomorrow and I've been scoping alot of prime locations that fit the Ovoid habitat and I think I'm now in the right place all the wash up piles had loads of thick hairy mycelium all in them but we haven't had rain in over two weeks ...however the logs that were kinda close to the wash ups had Galerina out the ass so I'm pretty with a good rain I'll be putting my area on the map with an Ovoid haul

Possibly a species of Psathyrella, but we'll need better pictures including gill shots.

This is galerina all-day I wasn't touching it
You can clearly see the rusty stem in the first pic where a cap was knocked off and they were growing off identical logs to what I've seen

there's no way they can be sickened just by holding it.

Well, that's being more paranoid than cautious. A child would have to actually consume the mushroom to get ill. Eating a mushroom or two might kill you, touching the mushroom or licking fingers won't. So jyst relax and leave your gloves at home 😀

I do that on every mushroom hunt I lead. The look on their faces is priceless.

mushrooms are only poisonous if you eat them, they have to enter the gastrointestinal tract to poison you.
However, if you go around tasting every Galerina or Amanita you come across on an outing or have a lot of their juices on your hands and rub your eyes you may have some side effects but to cause organ damage you have to eat them.
Chlorophyllum molybdites is a particularly nasty species, a single bite is enough to cause projectile vomiting and diarrhea that can be bloody, but it's the cramps that are the worst symptom.
