Mushies been in fruiting for 12 days now... No pins at all

So I have 11 brf cakes that I pulled from incubation after 4 solid weeks of colonizing. I've done a grow like this before with fantastic results but it was a few years ago. I decided to get back into it and this is my new setup.

I currently have a SGFC inside a small room under my stairs insulated and lined with plastic sheeting to maintain humidity. It gets quite cold here, so I have a small radiator heater in the room to raise the temp and I have two small USB fans at the top of the room blowing outward for FAE. The cakes seem to be further colonizing on the bottoms. This tells me I may have birthed them too early?
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I dunked the cakes in cold water for 22 hours before birth, much like I've done many times before, but I am not getting any results this time. What gives?

In the exact same boat you are except without the temperature problems. Just cannot get a pin. No clue what is going on. Made a post, but will monitor this one as well.

Humidity is supposed to be as close to 100% as possible. Id say its dry but I'm not an expert. I'm new to this also! Seems like a lot of FAE to me...

Or the heater is drying the moisture out of the air and convection is pulling mositure from the sgfc's perlite.
Mist mist mist get that climate fixed

I just went and misted them all again. I did it about 3 hours ago and all the cakes seemed to be dry already. Maybe the fans and heater is drying out the environment too quickly. There is some slight bruising on a few cakes which is a good indication of being too dry?
Thanks for any help. I've been misting about 3 times a day now, I'll ramp that up to 5/6 times and see what happens. I'll keep you guys posted!

Yeah turn off the fans and maybe tape up some holes. You have alot of holes in the SGFC. You can also move your cakes closer together. Safety in numbers when it comes to building a micro climate.

i would try turning off the fan and misting more... if that doesn't help improve your humidity level by the end of the day try covering a lot of your holes with some plastic wrap, tape, tin foil, anything that will slow down your FAE in all my research I've never seen a FC with that many holes in it... your misting 5/6 times a day just fan your chamber out with the lid at the same time!

Got it. I shut the fans off and that seems to slow the drying. I've been misting more and it seems to be helping. A few of the cakes were bruised but they're returning to a white color again. I will definitely try taping up some holes or transferring them to another smaller SGFC but the funny thing is, I used this exact same chamber with my last grow and I had some monsters. I didn't realize how much impact outside environment has to do with what's going on inside the chamber.
What do you guys prefer as far as fruiting chambers go? I've been thinking of switching to shoebox tubs.. Been reading some good teks on it. I'm tired of dealing with all these little cakes! It really takes the fun out of it when you have to clean/sanitize/pressure cook/inoculate/birth 11 freaking jars. Oh yeah, and they all have lids too

I'm also doing a SGFC atm. Six days so far with no pinning yet. Probably a little too early to be concerned, but I'll also be switching to shoeboxes next, following this particular tek. Just seems like it will be a lot less micromanaging.
I've got four new jars still colonizing, I might even give this a try first and switch to grains later, after getting some successful prints.
Good luck kicking those cakes into gear, and keep us posted.

Thanks for the links! That's a good way to put it, I'm tired of all the micromanaging. I have done the brf cake spawn before in 4 little monotubs I made and two of them contaminated bad, while the other two made some of the biggest fruits I've ever had. Progress seems to be happening. I'll post up some pics when these guys take off.
