Photosynthesis: A Morning Ritual 1

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share a morning ritual I've been doing for the past couple of weeks and have been thoroughly enjoying and sharing with my friends. It's really quite simple and many of you probably already do something similar, but essentially it's just waking up, doing your usual morning stuff (for me it's feed the cat, mix a protein drank, and take a shit) and then rolling a good blunt and smoking it outside, naked or in your underwear, while absorbing sunlight. Every morning. That's it. It's a good way to start the day, especially with this quarantine shit.
Some people suggest doing yoga or some other activity but that's not really in the spirit of Photosynthesis. The whole idea is to absorb sunlight. If you're moving around too much then certain parts of your body won't be in constant sunlight. You want to feel the sun radiating it's heat from millions of miles away. It's a wonderful sensation to have the sunlight warming your skin while the cool morning breeze blows over you at the same time. The blunt both is and isn't very important. It's a great measure of time, but I understand a lot of people don't have the money or the lungs to face a blunt every morning, so just smoke to your desired quantity but ideally you should be outside for 20-25 minutes. But if you can, I highly recommend it. The feminine spirit of Marijuana with the masculine spirit of Tobacco is a great blend, both in smoke and energy. Another point on blunts, if it doesn't burn for at least 11 minutes it's garbage. Sorry. Do better. This ritual calls for a good blunt and we don't settle for anything less than we deserve.
Only select master craftsmen are members of the 20 minute club, and a very very few elite are in the 25+ tier. I average around 19-22 minutes depending on wind but it's an ideal measure of time. Smoke about half of it, then turn around. I usually photosynthesize my back first and then I turn around to face the sun. While yoga is ill advised, some light stretching after the blunt finishes is nice. I like to do arm circles to stretch out my shoulders/back. Ten small circles forward, then large circles, making sure to pull my shoulders together behind my back on the upswing. And then ten again going backward, again pulling my shoulders together on the downswing. You're still standing there like a plant, but your arms are moving around as if swaying in the wind.
You can listen to music if you want. I've taken to facetiming a friend or two who is also partaking in photosynthesis that morning. Other times I just listen to the birds and watch my cat do cat stuff in the yard before he goes adventuring. He gets more excited for photosynthesis than I do because he knows I'm going to let him out. It doesn't really matter what you do as long as it's primarily just standing out there in all your glory to absorb the glory of the sun. The blunt is just a measure of time and something to do.
The ideal window is the time between 1 and 3 hours after sunrise. For example, sunrise in my latitude is around 7:15, so the ideal window is around 8:15-10:15, give or take 30 minutes. Too early there's not enough sun, too late it gets too hot. Adjust as needed according to your geography and surroundings. It gets hot pretty quickly here, so earlier is better here. I overslept last week and didn't make it out until almost 10:10 and it was hoooottt, I came inside sweating. However, higher latitudes will probably do better later in the morning. Some might even need to wait a couple weeks for the weather to improve.
Well that's the end of it. It's a fantastic morning ritual and a great way to start the day. I hope you all are doing well and will join me tomorrow morning in Photosynthesis.

I'm not sure if exposing your skin to sunlight so early has any benefits
Our bodies do use a certain type of UV light emitted by the sunlight to convert cholesterol from the skin into vitamin D but that type of UV light is only available during the hot season and only for a short amount of time, usually around solar noon. The exact time frame differs depending on your location of course.
EDIT: It is however a good habit, all that sunlight wakes you the fuck up and spikes serotonin production. But you just need to look at the light, it don't need to touch your skin

I definitely get a good spectrum of UV where I'm located. You're correct about it being only at a certain time/season, but that's all due to the angle of the sun. This close to the equator that range is pretty wide, though I might still be too early to catch it. I'll have to see if they have an hourly UV index for the weather here. That radiant warmth though is usually indicative of UV in my experience, however. Obviously this doesn't work for everyone's geography and can be altered to accommodate.
Either way it's nice to get outside and get some fresh air, especially here where more and more of the day is unbearable as summer approaches and stepping outside for even a few minutes will result in sweating profusely.

It’s about 5degC in the north west UK, and with windchill, feels like 1degC; I’ll photosynthesise from in my conservatory by the fan heater 👍🏻

Just a house plant waaaayyyy out of it's habitable zone, nothing wrong with a little supplemental heat
Wishing you some warmer weather! It's in the mid-high 70sF in the morning which I think is around 27C or something, gets up to around 90 by midday which is what I'd guess to be 31C or something. Wouldn't mind a little more chill myself, it gets unbearably hot by the end of April.
You'll have to give me an update once summer comes. Is it always as cloudy as everyone says? Surely you must get sunny days

The weather has been strange here the last couple of years. But I always tell people, they didn’t put the cotton mills in Lancashire because of the dry air! We re at the foot of the Pennines, so all the weather that comes in off the Atlantic drops on LANCASHIRE. Really wet and grey most days! But I love the hills up here
Whenever I travel “down south”, I always laugh at how many jumpers people wear, when I’m in t-shirt and shorts
No such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing
I like holidaying in the sun, but most days prefer the cooler weather. We have lovely green scenery, which I also love.
