i'm looking for the poster of this painting that either exists or i made up in my head one day and mistook it as an existant work of art...it is a picture of a profile of a face with a top hat on. the face is holding something like a martini glass. it is in abstract painting like something picasso would have done(maybe it was his work?). anybody know the name of this work cause i'd really like to get the poster of it.

hah check this out:
not quite what you were looking for, but relevant nonetheless.
I may know what you are speaking of though, I'm thinking of something very loosely drawn, scribbly almost, very colorful, tell me if this is ringing a bell.

The painting is by Salvador Dali and it's called "The Temptation of St. Anthony"
I have a huge copy of it on my wall.

Hey does 'the temptation of saint anthony' have anything to do with saint anthonys fire? One of those subtle drug references.

That doesn't ring a bell as a Picasso painting. When you say something like Picasso did, which period are you referring to? Ananlytic Cubism, Synthetic Cubism, Later?
What is the style like? Is it painterly, realistic, or hard-edged?
What is the color palette like?

I've got a few ideas. Was there anyone else in the painting, or just the man in the hat?

If it is what I'm thinking it is, It doesn't seem like a picasso painting.
It is I believe hard edged, mostly black and white and maybe red. It's realistic, but the guy's face is missing.

There might be another in the same series of silouhette top-hat suited business men just randomly all over the painting against a cloud background?
ring any bells?
