Choose our fate. 7

I'm a big believer in balance. Right and wrong, good and bad and other similar dualities are really just fabrications of opinion. The same as my thoughts are no more real than electric impulses. What is real though is biochemical systems on our planet. Everything must find its place to co exist around everything else.
As a species though we've ignored this required balance for some time. Now the swing will swing the other way. Balance will be restored. If our new favourite virus doesn't wipe out a significant portion of us we will just push the imbalance even further and something else will.
A sad reality, but still a reality, is that collectively at least half of us need to die.
It could be worse. It could be famine or war that does us in, or maybe they are coming too with what happens because of COVID. The four horsemen may already be upon us, though I don't think it's quite the fabled apocalypse yet.
I like birds fish and other animals. A world filled with industrial food production to feed a single species (humans) doesn't care for such trivialities. And nature being what it is will spot this massive food source (us) as an opportunity and adapt to eat it. The balance will be restored and not a single fuck will be given by the planet as this happens.
Modern humans are violent and plague like creatures. Not harmonious. I hope the cull is swift and as painless as possible, and that those who survive remember the mistakes we are making. I doubt it though, we're probably doomed to repeat it again and again.
I have been telling people for many years that globalisation is a major issue and not the way forward. That as a species we need to focus on localisation. Seems that coronaviruses disagree with me though. They reckon globalisation is freaking fantastic. And I'm sorry to the bleeding hearts that believe we can keep adding more billions of people to the planet and save everyone. Those who worry some people will die in this pandemic. You're deluded. We need to die. As horrible as it is, that's life. Let us just learn from this at least. There's so many harsh lessons about economics, food, medicine, immigration and governance to be taken. Though I suspect much of it will be lost in point scoring politics.
Stay safe my shroomerite friends, keep it real.

Let us find balance within too.
