55 gallon drum cover
    #26564983 - 03/29/20 10:28 AM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Hey guys, can i have your recommendations for drum covers for my 55 gal steam sterilizer. Right now i have a rubbermaid trash can lid that is very loose and I sandwich some bubble foil between it and the lid and throw some bricks on top to hold it down but it's far from a good seal. When I run the barrel for 16 hours i end up with puddles on the floor from steam buildup coming out the top.

Umm.. is this for a metal barrel, I assume because the plastic HDPE melting point is too close to sterilization temps? Don't you have the metal top that came with the barrel? Didn't it come with the metal strap to seal the lid with?

Yeah it's stainless steel. I bought a used drum that was sealed from Bubbas Barrels, and I had to cut it open. I'm using that cut piece as my false bottom so I'll need something else.

Thanks, I found a used lid on bubbas barrels. Those New pig lids are so expensive at $250-350 per lid.
