Getting outside is important for health.

Avoiding people is important for health

I think the key is for people to stop trying to go to PUBLIC parks and hiking trails which are busy anyway... they've already had to shut most of them down here in Maine because people are overcrowding at them

How does one balance a need for self-sufficiency with a reality that it takes a 'Global Village' and specialization to supply us with everything we need?

Basically we're balancing an expectation of life lived with the fewest of discomforts against a short and painful existence. Philosophically speaking we can agree that working towards the former is natural, as is avoiding the latter.

The problem is then pertinent to a species, with one species trying to dominate in a competative environment.

Competition between species and competition within species.

My town emptied out...
Hey, here is a point.

Spread population out.

As a general thing.

No cities.

Not right now. But in general.

Great post.

Yes. Absolutely.

In my post I was thinking more of personal health

I.e., as it has ever been, the more good things for your health - healthy food, etc. there are the better,

Which includes sunlight and exercise,

And the fewer negatives.

Of all things, I would say

Water,
Belief in ones health,
(I.e. faith in perfect health)
Exercise,
Then comes all physical and spiritual
Inputs, i.e. things we receive,
(Food, air, music, etc,)

And in the order these exist isn't set.

So the point is, we must find ways of being "out of doors"

In some fashion because it is simply necessary for our health.
