Hi everyone!! I'm new and would love to be helped with a pftek
    #26525654 - 03/09/20 05:15 PM (1 year, 2 months ago)

Hi everyone!
I'm matt, and really glad to be finally part of a full of expert and serious community as Shroomery Is.
I have an issue with a pftek (brf, verm, water) inoculated with Mexican and Golden teacher strains.
Setted in a SGFC filled with moisten perlite.
Attached pics are taken After 13 days of fruiting (started After 4 weeks of dark incubation @28°C)

The question Is, what's the problem with them?

Heya Matt,
You have way too much foil under those cakes, remove some of the foil around the cakes. Did you dunk the cakes in water before you started to fruit them?

I would trim the foil a little....doesn't need to be so big, maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 inch bigger than the cake base.

Also, sgfc do much better when they're loaded
With cakes. Have you been misting them any?

Also, is your sgfc constructed correctly? Like correct hole pattern with all six sides having holes?

Do you have the sgfc elevated?

In order:
I removed foil in exces, that was a great advice, i feel they're breathing better right now, Thank you!

I would love to load that fckin SGFC as much as i could, but sadly i had some issues with spore syringes and have only 5 cakes and no smaller SGFC.

SGFC is properly made and constantly re-moisted and fanned when it occurs. Unfortunately it's not elevated as I want but it's a room problem. Currently 3inches from the bottom btw.

Yes i dunked in cool water for 24h and rolled in verm. Most of that verm is fell down in these 14 days, even if i didn't moist them directly.

the missing step was the consolidation time (a week?) before birthing.
I missed it because didn't know it but i don't want to miss it again next time
I suppose that it is the real delaying factor. Do you?

This morning i see first pins in one of the mexicans. <3
Hope never dies!

you're gonna have to wait it out sounds like you are doing everything alright except for letting the mycelium consolidate the substrate.

The blue is fine but something caused it so pay attention.
Hey man I don't want to cause any problems or anxiety for you  I want to ask the group if the right part of the half cake is early cobweb.

No cobweb.

The bruising is probably from surface conditions...might have got too dry at some point. Other than that cakes looks good.

    #26539096 - 03/16/20 07:38 PM (1 year, 1 month ago)

Thoughts? suppose to wait another day to see if someone grow more and then twisted them.
Is it right?
All of them?
and then how much have to wait for the dunk?

___________________________________________________________________

Not all good ones for the other guys:

The other tiny mex still blue :frown:. Just one tiny abort tickin off from the casing verm.
No different from last pic

Other three teachers shows off something strange imo.

a few of this tiny fat guys appear on all three cakes.
are they seem strange only to me? idk why but they seem different to me as I imagined them

I'd say you are ready to harvest that big cluster now, looks like the veils already broken and you can grab them before they drop spores all over.

Make sure to dehydrate them right away if you don't eat them, they will not keep very long when wet.

You can dunk right away, not read up on PF tek to know current rec there.

Updates [Re: Maffmaff]
    #26546227 - 03/20/20 11:32 AM (1 year, 1 month ago)

Day 24th

The harvested one was dunked (12hrs,cool water) and roll in moist verm (dry verm on top drop dropping water).
Mycelium appears again after 2 days. Very happy for this one.

The other mexican is still blue. Just thinking to dunk it and roll it again before take the decision to throw it away.
what do you think about it?
It's from ever mushroomless and blue since 7 days. my hope for him is
about at the end point.

These are the other three cakes.

Holed caps
tiny mushrooms

I think that my SGFC is too shotguned because have a lot of issues correlated with a fast drying problem.
Increased moisturization in past days have had notable good consequences in therm of humidity but they still growing in a strange way!

Those small fruits seem like a result of too much humidification to me. But I'd wait for someone more experienced.
