I have one agar plate out of 15 that has myc as well as or had small amount of trich.
The myc seemed to over run it or grow over it and the plate looks clean.
Does this mean the plate is safe to use? or should I toss it?
What is your experiences with myc eating over or over running a contam??
And was it safe to use?

That's not how trich works, maybe some other kind of mold.
But why would you do that?
I admit that I've done that with spawn and it turned out okay, but why would you do that with agar? The main purpose of culturing on agar is because it makes it easy to have guaranteed clean culture.

Just curious..i was not planning on using it per se, but I wanted to let it pin for a clone. This is a plate that is about a month old. Your absolutely correct, why would I, or anyone, risk it. I sure don't want to risk it. But i was hoping i could use the pin that may grow in that same plate

If it's really trich, there's no way to get rid of it. Trich is a parasitic mold and basically integrates with your myc. And fruits are not that much different from myc.

Next time make sure to isolate the myc as soon as you see anything else growing on them plates.

Oh yes, I am aware of this. I have several plates left alone due to the hopes of pinning for cloning.
My other plates, have had about 4 transfers already and are clean.

I'm thinking it eats and over runs those things constantly. Just on a microscopic level

I didn't know tric would spore that quickly. I'm use to seeing it in Tubs. Might have been aspergillus.
