Liquid Inoculant: let colonise using the nutes in agar for a few days?
    #26560229 - 03/26/20 11:17 PM (3 years, 10 months ago)

I’ve always thought LI was to be used pretty much straight away.

But recently I read of someone letting it “colonise” for a few days after making, letting the myc feed on the nutrition in the agar.

Is this a worthwhile practice?

I think that was me who asked that question.  I asked if the mycellium feeds on the agar and starts to form chunks that makes it hard to pass through the needle after time.  I am still asking that question, so it would help both of us.

I’m pouring my LI not using syringes, but still, I’m curious if this is optimal.

Syringes are a good means of storage that can last years if stored in a fridge.
