Stealing Abandoned Cars? * 1
    #26560227 - 03/26/20 11:14 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

So i had this idea to steal those abandoned cars you see on the freeways and highways with that big yellow square sticker on the back of the car. Since no one has towed them away, i might as well take them for my own use.

Is this legal? Anyone into this sort of sketchy hobby?

They're removing a hazard with permission.

By all means go ahead.

Or start your own tow truck biz and be legit.

Your life.

It probably isn’t that hard to get a loan for a tow truck and a business license...

Google search is your friend.

The 600 bucks you make on the black market isn’t worth the risk.

But, if you are set on a life of crime, and think you could be successful in and out of prison, I would suggest either going bigger gains, or going lower risk. Robbing a bank truck or defrauding an elderly person would be some examples.

Toe truck company's have to send the registered owner a letter (registered) and wait 90+ days before they can legally do any more than toe the vehicle.
Everywere is different but most states only certain companys contracted by the county can toe a vehicle off the road,  To do so otherwise is theft / grand theft even if the owner does not press charges many times the goberment will as they believe your stealing from them.
