Best way to throw away contaminated substrate?

So i have a bunch of jars with PF cakes infected with green mold. Whats the best way to throw away these jars?
Im afraid to open them and ger mold spores all over me, which would end up in my grow area (again).
My current plan is to open the jars inside a trash bag to minimize my exposure to the mold spores. Is this a decent idea?

I open funky jars under water in the sink. Not sure if its 100% effective but it doesn't poof spores all over . I think some people pressure cook moldy jars then dump .

Idk if it’s the best way but you could just throw away the whole jar. In my earlier cultivating days I used to try to throw all my contaminated jars in a trash bag or mix in with my compost, I never liked the trash bag way though seems like I would always get more exposed.

I just take them outside and toss them where tall stuff grows, then take the jars inside and wash them. If I throw them in the trash, I gently tap the cake or grain out right befor I take my bag out for the day. Nothing special otherwise. Never had an issue with it clinging to me and contaminating anything having to do with future grows, but I wear clean clothing and wash my face/beard/arms before SAB sessions, so... If it is neurospora however, I treat like nucclear waste. Shit's crazy.

Either toss the entire jar. Or, you can re PC or boil the jars. Those temps will kill the nasty stuff. If you’re boiling the jars again, I’d toss foil over them before moving them. Assuming, you’re doing the standard PF tek for BRF.

Id rather not throw away the glass jar if possible (i dont like to waste items that are reusable).
Boiling sounds like a good idea thou I also thought of opening the jars underwater in a bucket.
And yes, its BRF/PF Tek jars.

Underwater in a bucket will work fine too. Just make sure to wash your hands and arms well after doing it and the bucket.

Thats a great idea.
Maybe what i will do is hold the jars underwater in a bucket or a bowl, let water seep into the syringe holes then once its full, take the jars outside and dump into a garbage bag.
Thanks for the post
