Nah just standard agar. The thing that probably makes it as quick as it is is my culture, which is a super fast clone, and my shaking. The 45 jar run I did was just one, super fast golden teacher fruit clone.
What I forgot to mention is that I do g2g. I use 1qt to 10qts and do that end-over-end shaking method I talked about. Straight from agar I get 14 says max for a qt and with the g2g and proper distribution I get around 12 max. Maybe 14 if I introduced any bacteria during g2g.

No, I just bring a large pot to a boil, dump in the oats and let it go till they not white in center. like 30 mins before I start seeing burst grain.
then I dump them into a strainer for a few mins, shaking off excess water and lay them out on a window screen with fans on them for another hour or so till I get tired of waiting.
Load and PC, and usually use them about 4 days later
I have never looked back after using millet and now ive found red millet which shows up contamination really we I wont use anything else.
 inoculated on 21st...........
damn it ed ; now you 're making me want to return to millet , i remember having good results with half red half white millet , it's just that it's 4 times the price of wheat S :
i think i'm just getting the real hold of wheat , but sometimes i feel it could be easier with some other grains ;
also , it has helped a lot washing it before and after with dish soap and some lime , it removes the slimy shit leaving your kernels a lot cleaner , i know it sounds like a lot of work but those 3 extra minutes are worth it , maybe it's just my dirty ass wheat supplier but it works for me ;
what you guys think ?
1 and 3 are LI and the rest agar

Its as cheap as ny grain in the UK

Looking good.
One of the differences I have found between Millet or WBS and oats is that oats tend to colonize a sub faster than Millet on recovery from the initial mix. This is all anecdotal because I had different varieties in different jars.

weird, ive noticed exactly the opposite, i chalked it up to millet having more inoc points. i been running 50/50 wheat/rye/oats and millet lately

I mean for me oats will start to show signs of recovery faster than WBS, but I love WBS for G2G because of all of the Inoculation points it offers. Just did one AA+ to a mix of Safflower and Black Seed and after day three it really started to take off. I think it has to do with kernal harness.

Has anyone ever put spawn in the fridge for storage.
I have and I have found that it underperforms its previous performance, pre-fridge by about 25%

I’d think that cold storage of grain spawn might make it dry out a bit.. I’d probably make my bulk a little wetter to compensate. Or do you think it was more of a shock to the myc that made it underperform?

Damn.. that’s a bummer. You’d think you’d hear about it more because ppl put cultures on slants and put them in cold storage all the time.
Myc is pretty resilient.. I’ve dried cultures out almost completely and they’ve bounced back.
This is some dried ass rye spawn that I extracted GLC from

And it still did this

It’s not that great of a flush, but that rye was almost the size of the original kernels before I hydrated them the first time... so I’d think a little time in a fridge wouldn’t affect it that much. Have you tried switching your grain spawn with the culture? Might reinvigorate it.
