Maybe there’s more to it than racism, but there’s no consensus of any kind on the existence of any “witch hunts”.
The general public was evenly split on the issue. Half the country thinks he should should have been removed.

People enjoy the "witch hunt", that's why they watch it. If they actually hated CNN or whatever, they wouldn't be tuning in getting all riled up over dumb shit. Remember these are ENTERTAINMENT companies, they know how to manipulate emotions and they are clearly doing it very well.

Nobody said there was any consensus that a political witch hunt was taking place. I implied his supporters perceived a political witch hunt was occurring against the US President they supported.
And guess what? His supporters were actually correct in their analysis that it was a baseless political witch hunt. Trump 2, Baseless Allegations 0.

I think it's a defensiveness mechanism at play here. Since Trump has constantly been attacked since taking office, his supporters come to his defense without hesitation.
That's as good an analysis as any.
Add to it that americans in general seem to have an almost need to be part of a team, to feel like they're part of a group, like it somehow makes them feel more important or something.
I see it in sports fans when they referring to their favorite team as they say, 'We really need to XYZ' as if they're a part of said sports team. Or when watching reality teevee and the viewer says they're part of team Christy or Team scott or whatever when referring to their like of a certain character.
IDK if people in other countries do the same to the extent Americans do, but it's pretty weird to me and seems prevalent. Perhaps that also plays into the blind devotion we see in some people on all parts of the political spectrum.
But, for sure, political operatives recognize it and use it to the advantage of whomever they're working for at the time. They've been playing the American electorate since forever.

Narcoterrorism
Quote:
The Trump administration unsealed sweeping indictments Thursday against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and members of his inner circle on narcoterrorism charges, a move that dramatically escalates U.S. efforts to force the authoritarian socialist from power. The United States also offered a $15 million bounty for information leading to Maduro’s capture and conviction.

Some people fall for whatever the Government/New York Times tells them. Some people want evidence.

Perfect case in point. There's no evidence that Maduro was personally involved.

It's obvious.
But koods like to make believe that Juan Guaido declaring himself ‘interim president’ last January, and Washington recognizing this, is how democracy works.

Although many Americans are passionate about their favorite sports teams, the US doesn't see the violence at soccer games like occur in Europe, Egypt, the UK, Chile, etc. Unsure of why this sport inflames so much violence - but these fans are very attached to the group self-image.
