Casing with no poop?

Hey guys I’m gearing up for my first grow. I live in a travel trailer and am planning on using coir/Verm since it’s a small space and I don’t want to deal with poop. I’m getting a pretty good grasp on everything except casing vs wax paper and whether or not I can make a casing with no poop. I mean, we can make a substrate without, why not casing? It’s just for moisture right? Where my trailer will be will have a RH no higher than in the 60s so I know I’m going to have to do something and for right now poop is out in the house. Thanks for any info.

You don't ever have to use poop. Coir/verm work perfectly fine for everything not sure what wax paper is for but you may wanna check out some of the tek links in the "Everything you need to know" section of my sig.

I have been reading quite a lot. No one seems to make casing without poop. I’ve searched and searched. I have a handle on everything else. So 50/50 coir/verm to field capacity for the casing?

If you have been reading, you haven't been reading Shroomery stuff. Read Shroomery. The stuff you posted in your first post may as well be written in Greek. Screw the internet grow crap -forget it. Start here.

You absolutely don't need to case with poop. Straight coir or coir/verm is perfectly fine. Up to you if you want to hydrate it cold, pasteurize it, use boiling tap water... lots of options with coir since it doesn't harbor contams.
Stay away from wax paper and the semi-related bubble wrap, they're both dead teks.

I think you may have some terminology confused or just read bad stuff.
A casing is a non nutritious layer you can put on top of your bulk substrate. Poop would not be an ingredient.
Spawn - this would be your grains, the nutrition for your mycelium. Wild bird seed (WBS), rye berries, whole oats etc etc. You would prep and sterilize these grains and then inoculate with your spores or culture you’re using.
Bulk substrate - this holds the water and gives a nice airy medium for your mycelium to grow. Once the spawn mentioned above is fully colonized you mix that in with this bulk substrate. 50/50 coir/ vermiculite is a common misconception. It should be more like 80/20 coir to vermiculite.
Once that bulk substrate is colonized (some people do this step a lil differently and it’s an optional step anyway) you would add a Casing layer to create an even better microclimate for mushrooms to grow. That’s the idea behind it anyway.
There’s a lot of really crazy info out there. The shroomery forum will help you out just read the newer stuff.
