hey bro no problem So for the grain im using whole wheat grains 1st class I bought from a retailer bulk I rinse them and let them sit in water for 24 hours and then boil for 15min then I let them air dry and put them in jars for PC 15psi 90min
The LC I PC tap water with honey in it (1 tsp) then just pick a small good spot from the agar plate to inoculate and use a magnetic stirrer for 5-10 min a day it takes a week maybe to get there.
I've done bags and jars with no problem

I realized that. Sorry brother. I’ve got a buzz on too. Multitasking isn’t my strong suit unless I’m behind the bar. Now go shake those jars, damn it.

Yeah the thing is im waiting on my mason jars they are in the mail, in the mean time im using jars I don't trust I think the last time I shook it I invited contaminants in so now im just letting them sit, I know it will take a little more time to colonize but its a little safer

Jars are jars It’d have to be your GE filter or lid rings that are bad.

Snowtrooper said: Hey guys thank you all for your input...there seems to be a little debate on the mold situation so here are a few jars I inoculated with the LC in the top row. I inoculated them on the 13. of this month so about 2 weeks ago I'm not sure how they are going to end up its too early to tell but I've been monitoring them and they look okay to my beginner eyes, I don't know if it would be visible or not by now if they were contaminated. plese tell me what you think.

Testing LC on grain is the best gauge of cleanliness IMO. Mold can be sneaky. Those jars look great now, but don't start getting excited until they're 100%, and have sit around for a couple days. The fact that its been two weeks and them jars are still not finished is a sign that something aint right.

No true, some time jars can take longer. Especially if there was no initial shake after Inoculation.
Shaking jars won't increase contams unless there are bad lids or filters. If you shake and get a contamination, usually it was there to begin with.
TL is right, time to shake.

Hey bro yes that's true im not there by a long shot, contamination can lurk in there but these jars are 67oz so it will take a little longer for them to colonize than 2 weeks.

Are those lids airtight or did you drill a hole in the glass? Lack of GE could make them stall

I don’t think two weeks with no shake is that long.
Those look really good I bet you shake them and they’re done in two days.
